The Amserdamse Bos is a mini-forest in Amstelveen, which is another Gementee or municipality outside Amsterdam. The park is an absolute heaven for cyclists, joggers and morning walkers. Many summer activities are organized here, there is also some kind of a tent hostel and facilities for camping. There is also a water body that is used for rowing. Absolutely wonderful place for physical activity in any season. The park is huge, very close to Amsterdam, but so very different from Amsterdam parks like the Vondelpark for example. There are many restaurants and pubs around the place. The Bos is easily accessible by bus from Amsterdam. A heritage tram that runs from the Haarlemmermeer station in Amsterdam, has a stop near the Bos. A good deal of info is available at the Visitors Centre at the entrance of the Bos.
