Stayed here with 3 friends for my birthday weekend (Friday to Monday) easy to find, brilliant location and staff are friendly and so helpful, luggage storage which was great because we arrived before check in which meant we didn't have to carry our cases round with us)
However, on arrival after already paying for the hotel online we were told we had to pay an extra €47 due to taxes, when we got into our 4 person room ( #006) it was a good size room but didn't have windows that opened so it was very stuffy, bathroom had a funny smell, cleaning staff didn't take out the rubbish and was left in a pile by the door, wifi wasn't working while we were there. Breakfast was lovely, can't fault it lots of choice. Tv was huge but only English channels were tlc and Comedy Central which just kept playing the same thing on repeat. For a short break in amsterdam I would stay here again and recommend to a friend.

It was very clean, the staff were friendly, and it was in a great location for getting around amsterdam. Room was slightly small and was had basic facilities and decorations- everything seemed slightly-outdated apart from the huge TV. Double bed was two singles side by side and there was a mysterious hole in the floor patched up by iron wool.

Stayed at the hotel in late March. Due to the International Nuclear Summit in Amsterdam it was very difficult to get a hotel room but I succeed getting one at the Falcon Plaza.
The hotel is situated very central in Amsterdam and has a very friendly staff.
However these positive issues does not make up for a very disappointing experience.
The room I got (room # 100) must have been the smallest room in the hotel – only slightly bigger than a closet.
The bathroom was very small and it did not have any ventilation of any kind – other than leaving the door open. This fact combined with the fact that the window in the main room only had single glazing with dew building up making the entire room feeling very damp. Needless to say that various forms of mildew could be seen on the bathroom tiles.
I can state as a fact that I will not return to this hotel.

Room Tip: In any case room number 100 should be avoided

The staff at falcon plaza were extremely helpful and so nice and friendly. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel is in a great destination walking distance to the red light district. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was welcoming. About a 10mins walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station. Once at the hotel the staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. The room was a surprise. It was clean and the furniture appeared new and cleaned. The TV was the largest I've seen in an hotel. Many channels from which to select. The beds were comfortable and made for a good sleep. Room was tidied each day and the tea & coffee was replenished. There were a few restaurants outside the hotel for reasonably priced breakfast. There is a Spar grocery shop across from the hotel if you want to get stuff to for sandwiches, snacks, water or drinks. You can borrow utensils and plates by asking staff.

From the hotel it is a short walk to the center of Amsterdam. I was able to discover a lot in and around the center including Harlem me extra at and the streets off Dam Square. If you can, buy a €10 (more expensive at the tourist info center) 24 hour day bus pass to go see places like Volendam and Marken and other places. They are worth the trip. Only about 30mins from the center.

To use many toilets, there's a charge. Even in McDonald's and the library you have to pay. Credit cards are not widely use in The Netherlands, so try to bring cash or debit card for cash withdrawal. Oh, visit the Library. Oh, don't forget to enjoy the city. Don't be afraid to get lost, you'll be surprise at what you discover. Enjoy!!

I loved the Falcon Plaza! Staff is friendly, the hotel is warm, clean, beds are comfy and the TV is flat screen and huge! Tea and coffee facilities are available in the room and there is good complimentary WiFi. You can reach the main station opposite Dam square in 15/20 min walk, from there there is a train to Schipol airport for only 4.50 euro per person each way, don't take shuttles, expensive and not worth it. There are some good places to have breakfast just outside the hotel and also a supermarket if you are travelling on a budget. I walked everywhere so location is a plus! I stayed midweek and got a great deal! Book on the hotel website and get an extra discount! Enjoy Amsterdam, beautiful architecture and atmosphere! If you wish to discover the surroundings, just get a daily 10 euro bus pass and travel anywhere for 24 hours! I reccomend Volendam, Dorp and Marken, just half an hour from the main station. They are all lovely traditional villages! Don't buy the bus pass at the tourist office, they will charge you an extra fee, cheeky! Bring cash with you since in many places cards are not accepted or a fee might apply. Most importantly remember that many public toilets in Holland come with a charge from 20 to 50 cents, take change with you and look after your bludder lol! Enjoy!

Although a little expensive, and rooms small ( although we're like hobbits so it's not a issue) it's clean and the staff are lovely. Don't be put off by the outside either. It's in a good location, it's quite and just far enought away from the main traffic. Never tried the breakfast so can't comment. This is our 4th time here. And will be back again.
