Very friendly staff, a charming hotel in a great location, great view from the breakfast room, the rooms are furnished with antique interior combined with new stuff, be aware of very steep stairs. Breakfast is very basic.
The hotel was very European and very charming and the staff was friendly and helpful. It is a nice location, with no more than a 20 minute walk to most sites and situated in the quiet Jordaan neighborhood. As noted in other reviews, the stairs are quite steep and there is no elevator. The two room suite that we had was wonderful, but the floors were so squeaky that anytime you got out of bed, everyone woke up. The daily breakfast was also very nice, but some members of my American family aren't quite used to a European style breakfast.
The location ofthe weichmann hoel is close to alot of charming small shops and restaurants making walking around the centreof Amsterdam a pleasant affair. Its five minutes from a square with alot of bookstpres and there are quite a few antique and speciality shops close by. Its also on the edge of the very character filled Jodaan and a close enough walk to everywhere from Dam Square to RembrandtPlein.he rooms are rather basic though but has a friendly helpful vibe about it. And though its near a lively street with a few pubs, its very quiet and you will definately get a food and quiet noghts rest here . Only big let down is Hotel swiped my credit card when i used it to book despite the pnline assurance that they would not. Hope the refund comes through quick.
Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear about your card, though. As nothing was brought to my attention could you please mail me the details and I will take care of it personnally.
It was a pleasant stay in Amsterdam. The ways to the sights were short.
The service and staff was excellent.
If your looking for a typical Dutch style hotel in the middle of the cobblestones and canals - right in the heart of Amstrerdam, then this is your hotel. This is a family owned and operated hotel with three connected buildings on a busy corner on the Prinsengracht canal. It has the steep steps if you like that - and lovely decor in the reception area. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The family dog, Tess, will also make you feel right at home. I was very pleased with the hotel including the breakfast in a bright corner restaurant. You can walk to all the tourist sites. The rooms are clean and nice - although I had the very small single. I heard other guests remarking about how much they loved the hotel.
