in my opinion, the hotel is on a good site of the city. the view of the canal is very nice. Unfortunately I didn't like the breakfast very much. the selection was not very large.

This is the 5th time I have stayed in Amsterdam and this was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in here. Without a doubt, I will stay here again. Room was clean and water pressure in the bathroom was fantastic. We had a room at the top in the back and it was very quiet - perfect for a good nights sleep. Management was brilliant. Very polite. Breakfasts were tremendous - all you could eat - cereals, toast, eggs, meats, cheese. Delicious. And to top it all, the highlight was Taz the dog who could often be found snoring in reception. He was gorgeous. Highly recommended. A*

The stars say it all. The staff were helpful personified. The room size generous and very well furnished. The location perfect for the old town. The breakfast room has one of the best views of the town and the quality of the breakfast was high.
There was some noise from the street from our room on the 2nd floor at the front but to have the view over the bridge and the canal you have to be in that position and the view more than makes up for it.

I was very satisified and next time I come to Amsterdam will book without a second thought;.

Yes, the location is perfect for walking to just about any attraction. Yes the rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are modern. Yes, their is a flatscreen TV and free, very fast WiFi but the real reason for staying here is Taz! Taz is the sweetest, most gentle German Shepherd I've ever met. She greets everyone with a wagging tail and if you give her any attention at all (and how could you not?) she rolls right over to have a tummy tickle.

But seriously, this is a very well run hotel with owners who truly care about the comfort of their guests. Everyone on the desk was helpful and always had a smile on their face. The only criticism I could offer is that you can hear everything going by on the street if you are in the front of the hotel. But if you want a canal view room (and believe me...you want a canal view room) just bring along ear plugs and all is good. It's not like there are parties going on outside. It is a quiet area. But you can hear everything.

Room Tip: If you need a quiet room ask for one in the back of the hotel.
