Absolutely fantastic wee hotel, so quirky and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

The room was excellent, just what we needed and was very comfortable.

Breakfast was great, plenty choice (continental style)

The staff couldn’t have been nicer, so helpful And chatty.

Location wise it’s a 25/30min walk from central station through some nice shops, canals and street cafes.

Overall we loved it and will def use Max brown hotels again....

This hotel was in a fabulous location, near the museums. The staff was helpful and attentive. The room was perfect and beds were very clean and comfortable. Great breakfast every morning. The stairs were slightly difficult with heavy luggage because they were so steep, something we are not accustomed to, but there is a lift once you are in the hotel. Nothing but a great experience! Thank you Max Brown staff!!!!

Dear Rene,
We really appreciate your feedback! We are happy to read that you had a great stay! Most of the houses in Amsterdam are very small but our hotel is blessed with an elevator. We hope to see you again and please let us know when you arrive the hotel, so we can help you with your luggage. Once again thank you!

Great location extremely near the heart of the city. The location is romantic and quiet. Modern concept design and charming. The room was small but prefect. Very clean and great shower. Breakfast was very good . Cold meat, cheese, boil eggs. Toast, cereal fruit. Too much other food to mention. The bar was very modern and serve a great choice of drinks and food till late. Staff were very helpful. However the stairs are very very steep. But there is a lift so not a problem. Great hotel for young couples. Families and those looking for something different.

We had a long weekend break, (the ladies and i) we stayed here at this hotel, which had friendly staff, however we was smoking outside of the hotel and was accused by the 're eptuonist of smoking in our rooms. Which we knew was phorbiden. We was upset by this greatly and almost made a complaint, but he redeemed himself by having a joke with us later.
The hotel had a nasty draft coming from the window which one person had to sleep next to. I felt bad, but was not giving up my bed. We complained but only got e tea sheets, as it was FREEEEEZING. The heater in the room was broken as well as the blinds. So people from across the road could see easily into our very large window whilst getting ready. We opted to get ready one by one in the bathroom. Painstaking for three very girly ladies. Although the breakfast was free and pretty tasty with a generous selection. We felt we had THE WORST room in the hotel. We feel the price would have been worth it be sure the location is so great, one walk away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Or a trams ride away from the great central.

Dear Kye,

It is a shame to read that you feel disappointed in your stay with us. We aim to keep our rooms as fresh and clean as possible for all our guests, which is why we check on smoking in the rooms very strictly. By Dutch law it is forbidden to smoke in hotel rooms and therefore we are obligated to check on this. We hope we have not offended you be asking if you have been smoking in the room and hope you still had a lovely time in Amsterdam.

I am surprised to read that you have complained about the draft in your room and you still did not feel satisfied after this. Please know that we will always do everything we can to make you feel comfortable, so we could have given you another room or fixed the blinds and heating in your room. We take this feedback very seriously and will certainly look into it.

Thank you for your feedback. We hope that we can welcome you back in the future, ensuring you our utmost care and personal service.

Wishing you all the best from beautiful Amsterdam.

With warm regards,
Telka Knapen - Hotel Manager

the hotel is in a great location, a minute away from a tram station and walking distance from the city center.
the area is very quiet and calm.
the room was small but comfortable and pretty, surprisingly great shower! we got a room for 3 adults and we had a big double bed and a tiny little extra bed that wasn't so great.
nice breakfast - hard boiled eggs, break, sausages and cheese, fruit and vegetables, yogurt with topping, cakes and more.
disliked- not a very good lighting in the room, super narrow stairs from the street to the hotel- was kind of hard to carry the suitcase, but in the hotel there's an elevator.
overall recommend
