Upon initiating our star at the Poet Hotel, my fiancee and I were greeted by the wonderful dutch host. He was able to quickly attend to our bookings whilst suggesting must see tourist destinations. The rooms were modern and clean, and the noise was minimal. However, the stairs are quite difficult to manoeuvre for the immobile but a lift is available. The breakfast provided was simple and no-frills. If you're looking for good value, conveniently located hotel; try the Poet hotel. And if there's anything you don't like, you can always just get really high.

This is a nice hotel, good value for money and a great location. The comments about the stairs are correct and the lift does not reach all rooms. The rooms are small but they are clean and functional. The style of the rooms are modern and the bathrooms are very clean and modern too! Breakfast is very busy with a limited choice but it is acceptable. We found all staff helpful.

Room Tip: Disabled travellers would struggle here. Best to ask first before booking.

I turned up to the hotel after my flight was delayed at 4am in the morning , the Chinese guy was really nice at the desk and checked in no problem , the next few days the staff were different and not as helpful , a bit blunt and unwelcoming , I eventually found the original staff member who was more than happy to assist me with advice around the city.
The hotel was nice clean and comfortable , modern and rooms were good for the price.

Excellent location, very central to everything I needed & the rooms were clean and adequate- better than the majority I have stayed at in Amsterdam... The room had its own character and had everything that I needed- the wifi was awesome.
Just around the corner from my favourite shopping street.
Wouldn't rate the coffee at breakfast :) However, we found a delightful little place serving the full menu from 9am which made my mornings!

Booked this hotel on-line based on its location and price. The stairs to the entrance and to the breakfast room are very steep and the handrails are not great. It certainly is not be ideal for persons without some level of finess.
It is close to museums etc and walking in the area is pleasant. The room was smallish but very clean and comfortable.

There are some mixed views on this hotel, so wasn't sure what to expect. The reality was better than anticipated. The room was small -yes, but perfectly adequate for a couple. It was clean- not pristine, but clean. Nice boutique style room in contrast to the older style exterior.

Reception staff very nice and helpful. Only problem was the noise early in the morning, sounded like staff crashing about, not entirely sympathetic.

Having said that it is in a great location for Bars and Restaurants and near museums. It is a 30 min walk to the Central station, but trams etc pass frequently if you're not up to that walk.
Breakfast was a great choice of cereals, toast etc.

All in all would use again.

Room Tip: Get a room away from reception if you are able to negotiate the stairs.
