“Charming little gem in the heart of Amsterdam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Most things about this place are pleasant, convenient and well done. The staff and services are excellent. An overall good value for the price. Very few nits to pick, including no towel racks, no covers except duvet (too heavy for warm weather). For a senior with a heart condition the many, steep winding stairs are murderous. If you have the window open you will hear the church bells every fifteen minutes.

When you arrive you will probably get scared by the steep stairs, and you will probably think: "I will never manage to bring my luggage up there...". No panic. The attendant will come down, take your luggage, and bring them up for you. When you are up to the hall, you will see it's very nice, recently refurbished, and with a lovely balcony. The rooms are clean and modern, although very small. An excellent deal!

I was lucky to live in Clemens hotel for a week durinig my stay in Amsterdam. Lovely hotel after renovation, with a great new bathroom equipment. The location is wonderful - close to Amsterdam Central station and Dam Square. Smiling and friendly staff, who are always ready to help. A delicious and varied breakfast each morning. On the tables there are always fresh flowers - sunflowers or lilies.
In my room 303 window was leaking, the water flooded the table, on which my laptop was. Nothing was damaged, but the next evening I found fresh bouquet of flowers on my table:) On the pillow at the end of each adventurous day in Amsterdam delicious cookie has been waiting for me. I guess, Clemens hotel is definitely worth of its stars and even more.

Stayed for 2 nights & 3 days, this hotel is at least 3 stars with 5 star service, we couldn't believe the service we received. Welcome drink and fantastic & friendly staff when we checked in, quick and easy. Room was small but pretty much that's the way it is in Amsterdam. We were on the top level, great facilities, the place has just been renovated.
2 min walk to Anne frank huis, 5 min walk to Dam square, 15 min walk from central station, very easy to get to and right in the middle of everything.
I would stay here if I travel to Amsterdam again, thanks to all the staff at the Clemens, fantastic service!!!

Room Tip: Value for money, well worth the price you pay, you can see Anne frank huis from balcony, go eat,y to...

I loved the hotel as it was very near to Amsterdam centraal station. Rooms were small but nice, stylish and comfy.Hotel staff was very welcoming, helpful and thanks to Hassan for waking me up early and preparing a lovely breakfast as I had to leave in the morning at 5:30. I would definately go back and stay in this hotel.

I have been in this hotel another time previously. I found it even better of what I remembered. I was with a group of friends and we got a three beds bedroom and a two beds bedroom. Both of those were awesome, always very clean and very central. Breakfast in the morning varied (both salty and sweet, even though the second one is more present). 5 minutes away from Dam square, 2 minutes away from Anne Frank's house. Very cheap prices.

Room Tip: A few rooms have a very nice balcony, but those ones are a bit more noisy since they look at an impo...

I was suggested to book by a friend whose advise I trust but I didn't know what to expect.. as the hotel is an old building.. But no worries, everything is new and stylish inside and the location is great! The stairway up to the lobby welcomes you in perfect "Dutch style" but the staff are ready to help those who do not expect... :)The room was small but clean and comfy.
Nice buffet in the morning and very friendly and helpful staff (and my thanks to Hassan for helping me with the luggage down the stairs on my last day when I left very early in the morning!)
