“Good location. Easy access to everything”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Spent 6 nights here visiting the Museums and touring Amsterdam. We had a small Double, small but very acceptable. Away from the Man Road so quiet. Close to the Rijks and Van Gogh Museums. Concertgebouw 10 minutes walk. Several trams close by, so easy to access all of Amsterdam. Breakfast was good, but after six days had become a little monotonous. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Would stay there again

This is a lovely old hotel - looks like it must have been two old houses put together. Great breakfast room. Service was very nice. This is a great location, quiet yet relatively central and easy to get around. Renting bikes in Amsterdam is a must (!) - recommend renting them from the hotel. The museums and park are a very short walk from the hotel.

Room Tip: Front room one flight up was great, elegant. Teenage kids had family room in back, two flights up...

Within a two minute walk of the main museums, it is very convenient for a stay in Amsterdam, the
197 bus from the airport also stops close by so no need to take the train into the centre which can be crowded.
Hotel Aalders is in a quiet street and the staff are very helpful, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast very nice. You can leave your luggage on the day you check out and pick it up later in the day.
All in all we had a very pleasant stay in a well run hotel.

August, 2013, We had a great stay at Hotel Aalders this August. As only a normal standard double room was available at booking.com,hrs and their own website the staff of Hotel Aalders upgraded us to a spacious room (Nr. 20) at the ground floor. Very big room and also a big bathroom. For breakfast you will get everything you like. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would book Hotel Aalders again.

I liked the location very much. The hotel is situated near Leidseplein (a place of great atmosphere where lots of theaters and bars can be found. It takes only a five minute walk to the Rijksmuseum. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. A quite place to sleep so close to the sizzling center of Amsterdam. Very nice breakfast.

Just returned to the US from a 3 night stay at the hotel. Prior T.A. reviews were very accurate. Go out the door, turn right, and in 5 minutes you reach the Rembrandt Museum. The Van Gogh is practically in the hotel's back yard. The room (27) that my partner and I stayed in was large and faced the street, having a nice view of the shaded lane and townhouses opposite. There was very little noise except for the morning of trash pick-up...and that didn't last for long. The décor was basic but everything was clean. If you go out the door and turn left, in 5 minutes you reach an "upscale" shopping street with names like Gucci, Tiffany, etc. Be aware that on warm days and nights there is no AC, just a small fan to place in the window. The room can get quite warm...but hot days are usually few in number.
Nice breakfast buffet, helpful staff. Nothing to complain about whatsoever. We did try two of the restaurants that the desk person recommended. Our favorite was "The Pantry" - with great service and authentic Dutch food options. We also found our way to an unusual one called the "Garlic Queen." Both of them are located on streets that you could call "restaurant rows" and were great for people watching. Look them up on T.A. and you'll see what I mean.
