“Perfect Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

The Hotel Aalders is located just around the corner from the Rijksmuseum and ten minutes leisurely walk from dozens of restaurants in the Leidesplein area.
The hotel itself is compact and our bedroom was tiny(room 31 on the top floor). However it was spotlessly clean and very quiet. Anyone staying for more than one night might find themselves having to live out of a suitcase.
The staff were all lovely and the general atmosphere was friendly and homely.
My wife and I would certainly choose this hotel again next time we visit Amsterdam.

Room Tip: If you plan to stay for any length of time it might be advisable to upgrade to a more spacious room.

Wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, nice and helpful. Very close to the tram station which can take you to the other main attractions and tourist sites in Amsterdam. Quiet location and within a very short walking distance to Riksjmuseum and Van Gogh museums. Good breakfast buffet.

We stayed two nights in a large and comfortable family room, full of original antique details. The room was at the backside of the hotel, with view on the garden, very green and quiet. The breakfast (including the coffee!) was very good The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful, they even booked a restaurant for us! The location is excellent, nearby musea, trams and a gorgeous park. We'll certainly be back soon!

Small hotel close to the Riksjmuseum, situated on a lovely quiet street two minuts walk to the tram with fast and frequent service via Liedseplein into Amsterdam centre and stopping outside Centraal station. Small room (ours at least) but clean, tidy and comfortable. Lift access to all four floors which is good as the top of each staircase is very steep and winding. Very helpful and friendly staff. Buffet breakfast good - preferred the rear dining room as it felt less crowded and was a brighter room, but the fireplace in the front dining room is worth a look. Buffet kept well stocked and tidy by a lovely waitress so looked appetizing all the time. We were also asked to pay for the stay in advance, but you have to pay at some point so why not?! Would definitely stay here again - excellant value for money.

This hotel is on a beautiful quiet street yet close to major sights and transportation to other areas. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was very helpful. I recommend getting a Museumkaart or 1 of the passes so you can avoid the lines at the museums. The breakfast was good. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room with a view.

A nice little hotel in the centre of amsterdam -the staff very helpful and assisting in all kinds of matters. The rooms are very small but adequate and room 7 was y very quite one. The breakfast is great with a large variety of choices and the location is close to the museeums.

Excellent location in the museum quarter, very quiet street, easy access by tram to city centre.
Comfortable, good value for money.

We were required to pay for the hotel fees in advance, on check-in.
Maybe this is "normal" in Amsterdam, or maybe I look suspicious (am 68 years old,
and was travelling with my daughter, aged 40)
