This hotel is in a great location, beds are comfortable and breakfast buffet was fine. Pity I can't say anything good about the rooms. We were allocated a room at the back of hotel, it had large windows but you felt as though you could touch the building opposite. Furnishings were tired and lighting very poor. There were steps down to room, step up to bathroom and step at window, when trying to see what weather was like this proved to be dangerous!
I asked for a room at front to be told hotel was full and no rooms available, strange as there was a sign in the tiny reception advertising free rooms and not that many people at breakfast the next morning. We were glad only staying one night, would not recommend this hotel except for location. I suppose it depends what you are looking for.

We stayed at the Prins Hendrik hotel for two nights, myself, my husband and our son and his partner. We couldn't believe how easy it was to find it, right across from the train station. Excellent breakfast, clean and comfy beds, good service. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.

This hotel is in a very good location, very close to all transport & sights.Lots of restaurants & bars nearby, and a laundromat within a 5 minute walk, after travelling for 3 weeks it was a big bonus.
Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the main street, our son was not so lucky, his room overlooked the back street, lot's of motorcycle & people noise..
The hotel is older style, but we found it very comfortable, and very good value for the price. Full breakfast was included, and covered both hot & cold, staff at the desk helpful.
Rooms do not have a hairdryer or iron, but just ask at reception, they were happy to oblige.
This was our 2nd time in Amsterdam, the 1st visit we stayed at a more upmarket hotel, but, when we come back next year, we will definitely be staying here.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the main street are quieter than the back street.

We stayed in a room on the second floor which looked out the front of the hotel, which we advised to do by friends who have stayed previously. The hotel was clean, staff were very helpful and its location was ideal for us as first time visitors as we were a 2 minute walk from central station and for the main departure point for various canal trips.

No bad points about this hotel. If you are looking for a decent hotel with a good location, then I would recommend you add this one to your shortlist.

We transferred here after a bad experience with another hotel in the city and I'm glad we did, this hotel was much better. Had to pay on the door prices however, which was average at €100 a night. Room was a bit cold, but they brought extra quilts up on request. Would stay again, at the right price
