“Very friendly and helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

I stayed here with my son and daughter and we all loved the hotel. The staff were charming and made us feel really welcome, and bent over backwards to accommodate us (my daughter only joined us at the last minute). Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and a great breakfast buffet (with delicious freshly made pancakes a highlight!) that set us up for the day. We loved the location very close to museums, boat rides and canals but in a quiet street. We're already planning our next visit!

My husband and I stayed here for four nights Aug/Sept. at the very beginning of a 5 week trip in Europe. It was a great way to start off our trip and a nice introduction to Amsterdam. We liked the location far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but still easy enough to get to the center. We loved coming back to "our" neighborhood. The owner Roel is very thoughtful in the way he is running this small hotel. The breakfasts were the best that we had on our whole trip. (The pancakes delicious and the eggs done to perfection every time we had them.) We appreciated the Nespresso in our room very much. This is not a "luxury" hotel, but Roel and all of his family and staff made us feel special and welcome. They were also very helpful whenever we needed them. Having the small elevator was a big plus for us. In comparison to the price of most hotels in Amsterdam, we believe that Hotel Fita is an excellent value.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Fita because we read great reviews on Tripadvisor. We are glad we did. Right from the start Martijn made us feel welcome, even though it was already past 8pm when we checked in. The Hotel is very neat and tidy, the service and any information needed were always delivered with a smile and the breakfast was delicious. Thank you for the scrumptious pancakes- best ever. Our room was on the ground floor, equipped with a good bed, a safe for your valuables, a coffee machine, a much needed umbrella and a very tidy and spacious ensuite bathroom with a heater that worked well during our cold and wet stay in Amsterdam. The neighbourhood is a little out of the city (2.5km) and fabulous public transport. A lovely stay, we will recommend you to all our friends in Australia.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in Oct.
Great location. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
Excellent breakfast. Clean, well managed hotel. Staff made recommendations to local restaurants which were outstanding.
As with other European hotels, the two single beds pushed together to make a double bed were somewhat uncomfortable.
Overall we highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again if we ever visit Amsterdam again.

We stayed four nights at Hotel Fita. Great location and helpful staff, although the staff is rarely seen in the evening. They give you a front door key to return when they are not present at the desk. Nice breakfast including Dutch pancakes and good coffee. We loved the size of the room, the tub, and the espresso machine inside the room. Two tram stops are within a five minute walk from the hotel. The area seemed affluent and safe. Two areas of improvement for the room we had are the mattresses and soundproofing. Our room was on the top floor and faced a youth hostel and what seemed to be a daycare. These two neighbors provided an unusual amount of noise both day and night which could be mitigated with better windows. Don't worry about sleeping through breakfast - the kids will have you up by 9AM on the weekdays. The mattress was not on par with the other European hotels we stayed at on this vacation. It was comparable to the one issued to me in the Marines. Overall a very good hotel with a couple small areas for improvement.

We stayed at Hotel Fita October 2013 and I have to say it was the most perfect location for us. A short tram ride from the Old City of Amsterdam, it offered clean and lovely accommodations, gracious host and hostesses and breakfasts that filled you up. I would not hesitate to recommend this small family run hotel to friends and colleagues and would definitely return if I visit Amsterdam again.

Very friendly and helpful welcome. Nicest owner and staff. Very clean, nice sized rooms. Very quiet at night. Fun and excellent breakfast. Great coffee and pancakes and other good stuff. Really liked the Dutch yogurt and cheese. Close to museums.
