“Amazing noodle and dim sum place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

Walking around central Amsterdam, I came across this noodle and rice place. It looked clean and much more family friendly than other options in the area on a Saturday evening. Service was friendly and quick and explained the options well. For example, I ordered some chicken curry and they warned me that it was quite spicy. I switched to another option and also tagged on some dim sum. You basically order at the front and then sit down and they give you a buzzer to tell you when it is ready. Teriyaki chicken was amazing, noodle soup was great and dim sum was divine. The pictures on the menu board at the front do not give them enough credit. When these dishes come out, they are big servings and really well made. I highly recommend this place.

“good value”

this restuarant is simple , but fresh ingredients and value for money make it a winner. Eat here before going out for drinks, and it makes the night out MUCH cheaper than eating at a more expensive place.

“Great little restuarant, serving fresh, tasty food at good prices.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2012

I live around the corner from this place, but only went in for the first time today. I'll be going back. I had BBQ Honey Pork served with noodle soup, and it was really good. With a soft drink, the price was €12. After ordering at the door and choosing a seat, the staff bring the food to your table in about 10 minutes, so it's not a lengthy affair. The staff were friendly and the premises very clean. The menu is well put together, so there should be something for everyone.
Shanghai Noodle is a great alternative to the usual Amsterdam fast food fare, and I hope they succeed. I also agree with one of the other reviewers that it's much better than the pretentious, overpriced Wagamama.

“what it lacks in atmosphere , it makes up for in food quality”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2012

Have been going regularly to this recently-opened place... concept is 'fast-food' but with slightly more 'sophisticated' dishes than meets the eye.....crispy chicken, home-made noodles, 'malay' beef, dim-sums... all above average, and prices are Cheap , averaging €8 ... served up Bento-style, which is nifty... it's really a place for younger, savvy-eating folks and a far cry from the unsatisfying fodder they give you at Wagamama..
Now if only these guys 'pep up' their decor, they will have 'nailed' it...

“Authentic Chinese Style Noodles”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2011

We just popped in on a whim because we were hungry and it was a most pleasant surprise, especially as most of the restaurants in this area serve poor-quality, over-priced slop to tourist passing trade. The location of this place is just a couple of doors down from the V&D department store near Muntplein.

Ordering at the entrance was quick and efficient - the choice is limited but sufficient; there are vegetarian options, The speciality is noodles but rice is available with the dishes too. Once ordered, the food was delivered to our table very quickly.

Everything we had was excellent - the vegetable soup had a nice flavour and was not too salty; the vegetables in the soup were crunchy and fresh; the crispy pork and shrimps were juicy and cooked just right; Dim Sum was just right. I had the deep-fried Ba Pao and it was really nice.

Everything was tasty and well-cooked, and would not have felt out of place in Hong Kong or Shanghai.

The restaurant was very clean as were the bathrooms

Excellent value for money , tasty food, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to eat authentic chinese noodles in Amsterdam.
