Description: PIQNIQ: for your breakfast, lunch & high tea in the Jordaan area in Amsterdam PIQNIQ as in picnic? Yes, something like that. PIQNIQ is derived from the French word for picnic; pique a nique. Pique means 'choose or pick something' while nique stands for 'a litlle something' means. So PIQNIQ refers to a variety of small dishes of which you can choose from, just like a picnic in the country. At PIQNIQ you are invited to choose from our variety of small sweet & savory dishes and enjoying them in our nice natural restaurant in a typical golden age Amsterdam surrounding while looking at the life on the street, reading a newspaper/magazine/book or take pleasure in a conversation with your table companion(s).At PIQNIQ we serve breakfast, lunch, coffee and tea with sweet bites, fresh juices, smoothies, a quality glass of wine and cold beers. You can also order for a special treat at the office or to take with you to the park or on your boat tour. Take a look at our website for the different possibilities and the menu. We are open daily from 09.00 am. till 05:30 pm.

The food is great and it is like picnic, ordering small sandwiches, soup, etc to make a lunch. Due to the good food you might need to wait to get a seat.

A litle eet caffee where you can pick a collection of small harty breads, or enjoy a tea with different little cakes. They have a day speciality and even high tea with scones if you reserve 1 day ahead ;o) . The staff is very friendly and the food we had was put together with love! I like the wallpaper of red poppy flowers.

When I called the owner of Piqniq to ask if she could help me to organize a lunch for me and my friends, she welcomed us enthusiastically and came up with wonderful ideas. This lady can make anything. All her dishes were small-sized (and small-priced) so we could try many different kinds of food. The presentation of her dishes was very impressive, she had a very good eye for detail. However she did all of the cooking herself, she managed to serve all dishes in time, and everything tasted wonderfully. I really liked the interior and atmosphere of this cafe, it was noticeable that the owner, Paulien, was very happy and passionate about doing what she's doing. I would recommend this cafe to anyone who is looking for a lovely cafe to hold a lunch, high tea, high wine or for friends to simply enjoy the high quality coffees and miniature sized cakes!

This is a very nice café in the Jordaan, the staff is very friendly and the food is good. We were there for breakfast, had fresh orange juice, a very good capuccino, some eggs and fruits. When told about my gluten intolerance, the waiter immediately offered gluten-free bread. Fantastic! Only minus: maybe a bit pricey, but I would say it's within Amsterdam's standards.
