We stayed 3 nights in a double room on the first floor at the front, with a small balcony overlooking the street. It was very clean but really small for two people to move around at the same time. It felt like a single room with a double bed. Thankfully we only had 2 small bags as there was very little floor space. The double bed was comfy, but against the wall on one side with a table at the foot end, which made it difficult for getting in and out. The 2 chairs needed to be smaller, and suitable for leaving outside on the balcony. The wardrobe was small and only had 6 hangers (not enough for two people). The safe was useful. The shower worked well but the space around the loo was very restricted, so the basin was in the bedroom. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, which was very disappointing. The buffet style breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Overall this hotel was in a nice street in a great location with friendly and helpful staff and fine for just a 1 or 2 night stay.

Room Tip: Balcony vital for extra space if you don't mind noise from street

I stayed at this hotel with a mate for 3 nights. We arrived at the hotel around 7pm for check-in and the guy serving us started having a "go" because I didn't have my booking details on me... I could clearly see my name on his computer and see my booking. They gave us a room near the top, we got the lift which sounded like it was going to fall any second. We got into the room and both windows were open which wasn't a surprise because the room smelt like a dead rat in a drain. The room has super thin walls - we could hear the person above us walk around his room for 6 hours a day, not to mention all the other noise coming from the other rooms. The bathroom was tiny - I could just about fit into the shower cubicle and I'm a thin guy. There was a sink in the middle of the room????? The breakfast was average at best - they had ham, more ham and more ham...... I summary, the hotel was in a great location but I'd rather stay in a cardboard box outside bulldog palace.

We had booked in advance and having arrived early afternoon we were given a choice of rooms which was great. Chose a twin bedded, quiet room overlooking the little garden. Small room but extremely comfortable beds and good en-suite facilities. Great continental breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Corridors could do with a lick of paint, but then who lingers in corridors?!

Room Tip: Get there early.

6 of us stayed, two double rooms and two singles, all on the basement level which looked out onto garden. The two doubles were fine in a relatively modern two storey extension, not massive but comfortable, clean and everything worked. Corridors a bit jaded but not a problem. The two singles were not as good. Both were small and affected by noise either from the lift shaft or by staff starting work early. Also a dish washer or similar started at about 5 in the morning. If you are taking a single room do some checking first and if you are a big person let them know!
Breafast was good and the service at reception effusive . Well located within easy reach of trams to the Centre, lovely park 5 mins walk away and Museumplein similar distance.

Room Tip: Some of the showers are small and not suitable for large people; reception was very helpful and ensu...

I was here for three nights. Two of us. We got a renovated room (number 40). It was not in basement, nice view. Actually, room is small, but it has everything you need. Bath is very good, nice shower, hot water.

The breakfast was much better than I really expected. Bread, butter, cheese, chocolate pasta, original orange juice, coffee machine, fruit salad.

Location is the best about this hotel. Few minutes from Leidseplein, and cca 20 min to the Dam (capital square) by walking. You can also take a tram. Vondel park is few min by walking.

If you are travelling by plain (Schiphol airport), remember to take a red bus number 197 (single journey - 5 E per person), which will take you directly to the Leidseplein. Then you will see a big Marriott hotel, go straight, and easily you will find the hotel. This way of transport is much more practical than train to the Central Station, then tram to the Leidseplein.

The staff is very kind. They also gave us a map of the city. I recommend this, cause of the location, clean rooms, nice breakfast and price was also ok. We paid 278 E (nonrefundable reservation).

Room Tip: Ask if it is possible to get a renovated room.

We had a very comfortable one-night stay at Prinsenhotel. It's only a few minutes walking to Vondelpark, Leidseplein and Museumplein. Only the carpets in the hallway need to be renewed. The breakfast was nice, great coffee! The single room was very small, the double with garden view very nice.
