Unless you're overweight – the rooms are rather small – Hotel Nadia is an excellent and unexpensive place to stay in the heart of Amsterdam, under the shadow of the famous Westertoren. The Jordaan with its many brown pubs and art shops are very near. The Dam square, the Spui square and the Kalverstraat are within walking distance. I did stay here before and will stay here in the future.

We were lucky enough to spend six nights in the last half of September. We had a room with a balcony and it was very comfortable. The room was not large, but it had everything we needed and it is very well organized. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good, fresh, and plentiful. The coffee is excellent. The hotel is centrally located. The staff were friendly, efficient, helpful, and kind. We felt like friends were welcoming us.
I have seen the stairs mentioned in several other reviews. They are steep, but I think you would find the same thing anywhere in Amsterdam and the staff was more than willing to carry things up and down.
We would recommend it to our friends and we would love to stay again.

Room Tip: You may hear more noise from the street on weekends, but we had no trouble sleeping.

The stairs to reception were a bit daunting but the staff more than made up for it. They were pleasant and accomodating. They took one look at us and realized we would not want to hike to the 4th floor. They found us rooms (2 groups of 2) next to each other. Quite small and the bathroom was even tinier but clean and relatively comfortable. Next time we won't take as much luggage (the clerk hauled it for us) but it is a charming little hotel with a great location.

Stayed at hotel Nadia for 4 nights, our train was cancelled and they put us up for an additional night with no issues. Would book a room with canal view in future as we found the other rooms quite small but could not fault the service and homely welcome we received. Would stay again.

We usually go at least 3 stars when traveling but the Nadia had some good reviews and it was cheap so we thought we would chance it!
I wasn't dissapointed at all for the money we paid.

PROS: Location was excellent. (5 min from Dam Square, 10 min from red light district,10 min from redbrant area, 3 min from Ann Franks house 5 min on tram from central station)
Friendly staff who will help you with your bags.
Free drink on check in.
English tv channels.
rooms had a iron and hair dryer

CONS: Stairs were a pain. We were on the 3rd floor and my legs were jelly at the end of the climb but it is manageable . If you have trouble with stairs not for you. If not it should be OK.
Rooms are small and dated but clean.

We arrived 2 hours early of our check in time to drop our bags in at reception and the lady said if we wait 15 min she will check us in to our room which was nice, saved us coming back.

Try the tea room under the hotel it does lovely waffles and pancakes.

Tram 17 + 14 go to and from Central Station only 3 euro each way and come every 10 min. We paid 15 euro in a taxi to get there not knowing where the hotel was. Ask the tram driver if he goes to Ann Franks house if he does that's the tram and get off at her stop.

Room Tip: The ones with the balcony have good canal views and try and get on the first floor.

Myself and my husband travelled to Holland for the second week of our honeymoon. We began with 3 nights in the centre of Amsterdam staying at this hotel followed by a couple of days at the British Superbikes in Assen returning to Hotel Nadia for a further two nights. On arrival there were lovely fresh flowers in the room. The rooms are compact but there is everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The manager was able to give us train details to get to Assen. We had not checked prior to travelling about the trains. There was work being done to the lines and we had to change 5 times en-route to Assen. Not only did he give us train times but train platforms and all necessary information. Without his help we would never have got there. So a huge thank you once again. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Dam Square and very central to all local attractions. There is a pancake house 2 doors up from the hotel it was amazing for breakfast lunch or dinner! We would strongly recommend a stay at this hotel. We will be returning in the near future with any luck.

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony that looked out over one of the canals.
