Husband and I have visited the hotel last weekend (10Aug) and it was fantastic! The location, decor, building as well as the restaurants in the hotel are perfect! We arrived on Friday late evening and were checked in and shown to the room in no time and were down for a light dinner and drinks straight away. The view from the restaurant is fantastic and its quite fun to watach all the little boats go by. we had a Junior Suite 331 and it is one of the most gorgeous rooms I stayed in, all the amneties and the bed is the highest quality. We spent the weekend walkign around and saw few hotels in the area but nothing compares to Hotel De L'europe! Thank you so much for an amazing stay.

The hotel DE L' EUROPE has excellent rooms in a great location. However my Wife and I thought the food in the Brasserie and Terrace was poor , and the service was very variable for breakfast. For example I had to wait for over 15 minutes to get a fried egg even after giving 2 reminders. As a result apart from breakfast we ate out.

Also there was an Nespresso machine in our room , but with no instructions on how to use it. Our used cups were removed in the morning but not replaced until the afternoon, so if we wanted some coffee about lunchtime there no cups. Very irritating!

Altogether not what one would expect in a 5* hotel.

We walked and cruised Amsterdam for 4 days and couldn't find anywhere remotely close to the De L'Europe in terms of facilities and location. The decor is modern, bold and well done, the location is perfectly located, central to all the places you want to be, excellent breakfast options and above all, the best waterside terrace in the city where its easy to go down for a drink and leave hours later after a few rounds in the bar area and an excellent dinner on the restaurant side while taking in the often exciting ambiance of watching the canal boats cruise by. We definitely chose the right hotel for our first Amsterdam experience.

Room Tip: Get a canal view room and ask for one with a balcony

Very nice. If we return to The Dam we will definitely stay at this hotel. We celebrated my husband's birthday and the hotel noted our celebration and provided wine and treats. Really enjoyed the spa like feel to our spacious bathroom.Staff were professional and accommodating.

A 2 night business trip led me to this hotel. And what a find! This is no ordinary hotel, its like a family run hotel (but where the family actually like each other and get on!) Staff mostly long-term, and CANNOT do enough for you and the best part is they mean it! I have been staying in 5 star hotels for over 25 years and have NEVER written a review or ever left any hotel without making at least one complaint, as much as I tried on this occasion to find fault ( i know its a flaw i have) i simply could not. Friendly, courteous, professional, efficient you name it, its there, the setting on the canal also is simply fantastic. For what you actually get, its real value. If i am even near Amsterdam again, this where I will be staying!! IMO this hotel is equal to some of the very best London hotels who are x3 the price!

Room Tip: Canal views are just great, nothing wrong with a room without one (i saw one of them also and it was...

This was the best hotel we ever stayed in terms of service and accommodations, aside from Trump Towers in Toronto.
The room was beautiful and don't get me started on the pool overlooking the river. My husband and I spent three days in heaven. The staff we encountered were all very polite and modest, and there to help. Other than the concierge, funnily enough who just may have been having a bad day when we spoke with him.

The Ipad that came with the room was a huge bonus... or so I thought. As most people do we signed into our Facebook accounts to share our experience with our friends. We didn't give it a second thought and continued on the rest of our European vacation. A few days later I found that someone hacked into our Facebook and updated our status saying that we were "silly sausages" for not signing out properly at the hotel. The first thing we thought of was our bank accounts and other sites we accessed, and what a privacy invasion this was. We may be silly sausages for navigating off of Facebook and potentially forgetting to sign out, but if De L'europe is going to provide their guests with an Ipad, they need to immediately implement a "reset" or "history clearing" policy for the next guest using it. This could cause major privacy issues as it did for us. Luckily the people who hacked into our account were dumb enough to tell everyone about it, which caused me to immediately contact the hotel. I am very disappointed that the hotel did not get back to me, and I had to change all my passwords and worry for the rest of the trip. Disappointing, and worth 1 star loss easily.

Room Tip: Don't use the Ipad for business or personal info unless you are confident of clearing out the in...
