Room 103 in this hotel is below the street level with windows high on the wall facing the street. The noise of luggage rolling along the footpath, people loitering in front of the hotel and traffic on the street in front of the hotel supply the noise from outside the building all night long.
Inside the building the floor above room 103 appears to be a heavily trafficed area of the hotel, and this brings much pounding on the ceiling.
The plumbing for the hotel evidently runs through the walls of this room, and thus supplements the noise with pipe noise through the night.
Evidently, the connection to the city sewer under the street is near as every sounding of the pipe is followed shortly thereafter by the stink of the sewer.
This room as adjacent to a cleaning cupboard, which is used by staff in the pre-breakfast hours.
This is not a room to accept if you require a comfortable night's sleep.
The lobby of the hotel is attractive, and the towels are high quality, but the managing staff are utterly indifferent to both the disruption caused by the noise in their room and the stink. My evidence for this is that when I informed the managing staff they expressed polite sorrow, but did not inquire about the nature of either the noise or the stink.
It's impossible to recommend this hotel.More
