“Stay clear of this one!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013

We went here because it was close to our hotel and because it was recommended here on Tripadvisor. The starters, dal soup and lamb meat skewer, were okay but main courses, vegetarian korma and some chicken curry with paprika (~ 15-18 euro) were absolute rubbish both in terms of the low quality of the ingredients and the very non-authentic taste, which you get by using 1 euro sauces from the supermarket, instead of actually taking the effort of cooking the sauce yourself, using proper spices, fresh tomatoes etc, which is what we expected.

“Fine indian”

We had lamb chops. They were not marinated long enough and the portions were small. Chicken tikka masala, naans and kulfi were all of very good quality. Excellent serivce. Recommended.

“Excellent! It really hit the spot!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

Usually nervous about eating Indian food outside India, I am very impressed with Tagore. Excellent food, just like special dishes made at home without too much oil and spice but just absolutely flavourful. We had chicken saag, aloo saag, baingan bharta and parathas and naans. My partner is allergic to cream and so the chef put the absolute minimum in the aloo saag and no butter on her naan. The baingan bharta is not actually a bharta - the kind where the aubergine is smoked over a naked flame and then prepared, but it was wonderful all the same, so much so that I tasted it all very slowly to check out the ingredients to cook it at home! Being a Sunday evening, there was a constant stream of people coming in and leaving but the service was faultless. The only thing they can do better is to improve the quality of the rice that comes as an accompaniment with the tasty saag chicken. But my naan and paratha were so tasty that the rice was completely ignored. I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's dinner of leftover saag chicken that I got back home in a doggie bag!
