May 14th 2013 Me and three mates. We booked "just in case" the Toon got to the final.....they didn't..... but we went anyway. Got the ferry from North Shields and he bus drops you off about 500 yards from the hotel. It's perfectly Central. It's clean its compact staff are friendly and we paid about £65 for BB pp in twin rooms.

This was me third trip to the Dam and this hotel was better than the other two dumps I've stopped in

Stayed for 4 nights on a tour of Amsterdam & Keukenhof gardens, hotel exactly what you would expect from the Ibis group. Ibis is directly on the railway station easy access and you can travel around Amsterdam on public transport from near the hotel
Very welcoming, rooms small but very clean room. At the front of the hotel surrounding rather noisy but with windows shut not a problem.
Breakfast lot of choice though rather hectic & spread out but plenty of it

Room Tip: None all the rooms the same we were on the second floor, easier to use stairs as lifts get very busy

Extremely clean hotel with friendly service. Rather expensive but all hotels in Amsterdam were expensive. Bed was too soft but otherwise the room was extremely comfortable. Plenty of towels. Located beside the Central Train Station and at the north end of central Amsterdam. Overall, very good hotel.

Stayed here twice (once in april for 4 nights, and again in May for 2 nights) in a triple room in the Red Tulip wing. Rooms were a bit small, but if you don't mind sharing the space and squeezing - it's fine - we didn't mind. Staff were great and check in was quick both times - early in the morning and again at lunch time. Breakfast was a standard cooked breakfast - eggs, sausages etc with cereals, juices, fruits, coffee & tea. Rooms were clean. We could borrow a kettle and cups from the information desk for tea and coffee. Good location as it was above the train station and a short walk (about 10-15m) from the Dam and Jordaan. A short walk to the trams. Couldn't really hear any trains from our room other than the low rumble. First time was city facing, the second time around was habour facing. We had a problem with our room the second time around (no triple bed) and were quickly changed to another room when we called reception with no fuss at all.

Room Tip: Ask for the harbour facing room - nice view

Located attached to Centraal Station, this Ibis is in a great location. There is a transit hub just outside the front and you can walk to the canal district. Its a great home base for sightseeing Amsterdam and for any day trips using the train. The hotel itself is standard Ibis. Clean, efficient and budget friendly without all the bells and whistles. We did not have the breakfast.

It's always a pleasure staying here. In the past, I remember staying at the Ibis Central Station and thinking what amazing value for money it was. Rooms were at times just below €100 per night and sometimes just over. Worth every Euro for the convenience of the location. I understand that seasonal rates changes but I'd have to argue whether the "no frills" hotel and rooms are worth the €189 per night (or not) that I paid for my recent stay there. For that amount of money, I'd really have to think about the value that's being offered - no extra services, no amenities in the rooms, no gym/spa/pool facilities. Is it just out of my loyalty to Accor?

Dont know how to review such a hotel:

waiting to check in for over 20 minutes. Abrupt and rude. The room itself was terrible. The bathroom was a disgrace, on the top floor i think , with a tiny TV that didn't even face both beds. The shower was worse, it was for a person with disabilities so was only to shoulder height. When we used it it burned the skin off me one minute then went to ice cold and kept changing.

We asked the staff to fix it but over the 3 day period nothing was done. We went out the second day for a while, when we came back after lunch the rooms were never cleaned, we had to ask for new towels.

When we came back int eh evening my friend could not the enter the hotel, he was pushed back by security even though we were guests. crazy behavior.

We asked again about the shower, the room had red wire around it.i brushed up against it and people came up to see if we needed help.

The final day a maintenance guy finally came and was shocked himself at the heat of the shower, we had to use our friends hotel, the staff just said sorry about the shower we heard it was terrible and smiled.

A complete joke. I have yet to hear back from the hotel on this matter.

I holiday and travel alot, and i have seen better hostels in South america and Eastern Europe than this excuse for a hotel.

AGAIN,I STRESS, DONT USE IT!
