I was in this hotel on the 21 september, with a business group of 12 people. the hotel was paid by our partner company fully. I had to give my credit card as insurance. The hotel blocked 2000 euro on my account, which blocked my whole card! despite the hotel had already been paid fully!!
I staid with a blocked credit card in amsterdam for my whole stay, and until today i have almost 2000 euro blocked on my card!!the hotel managment treated me extremely rudely and claimed they had no record of my credit card at all!!!my bank cannot do anything since the amount is blocked from IBIS.. The IBIS managment are not communicating. This ROBBERY cost so much trouble and it is still not solved!!! this should not happen in a chain like IBIS!!! the managment is doing nothing to solve this and are not even repling to my calls and mails!!
Just back from this hotel. Found the location excellent but was a bit surprised there was not a kettle in the room. I found this hotel was quite expensive for what i would compate to a travel lodge or premier inn.
The rooms are small, the bathroom tiny, no noise from the train station which is right next door. Breakfast is good and runs from 6am through until midday. Very handy to tourist attractions. It's OK for the money you pay,
Hotel is centrally located virtually above Amsterdams central Hotel, though the noise is well insulated but due to lack of airconditioning, can get stuffy in summer. The rooms are modern and very cosy i.e. swing a cat jobs ! Service at the front desk was as expected and efficient enough though one male receptionist was patronising though efficient.
One of our fellow travellers had an "incident" involving his room that was resolved very effectively by the hotel and resulted in them getting a rebate for the night....so customer service does live at the Ibis Amsterdam Central.
Wouldnt recommend the Hotel if u had an extended stay in Amsterdam, though it suited us as we were heading off on River Cruise and the docks were only 10 minute walk from the Hotel.
