“Not value for money.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2011

I have stayed here several times during the passed years. This time I was not pleased with service and how they handled things.

Stayed here in April booked 2 rooms for 2 adults & 2 Children.

Location of hotel is unbeatable if you need to use train or main area of visits is in city centre. Hotel consists of 2 blocks one fronting the main road, the other is over the track facing water.

The sea facing room we had was good, bed & pillow was just right. Had good sleep here, didn't even hear any rail or transport noise at all.

Hotel is very busy, check in was swift and staff efficient, never have to wait for long to get things done. This is a hotel chain, runs like a factory, so expected to be in one. Everything moves in sync, nothing much falls out of order during our stay there.

One complain is breakfast. The food is cooked in factory style, it is neither sweet or salty, everything is just bland and flat. It is just cooked food, that's all. scrambled eggs comes in large pots, can't taste butter or oil or salt in it, sausages is just cooked nothing under or over to give it that ommp. Bread, croissant are those you buy off the shelves from a supermarket.

Beware when the hotel ask you to store your luggages in their store, it is a locked room but unmanned. No one even bother to check who puts in or take out whose luggage.

When we arrive, as it was before 12, was told to put bags in the store which we did but when we get back around 2pm, the store was packed with bags, there is no way we can go in, saw one of the guest just step over all the bags to get to his. Imagine the laptop in there. Asked the same fella to pass out our bags whilst he is in there. Imagine if we are not the owner of the bags.

Lose our umbrella and water there. Dont think it was stolen probably was kicked and step on that it is just in there some where.

I would stay in this hotel again given its location.

Upgraded because of A-Club Frequent Guest to corner room with double glazing as hotel right over the tracks at the main railway station. Comfortable bed and pillows, two great views, handy to city, breakfast was good but ordinary, free internet, staff incredibly good and helpful, bathroom fine and handy to absolutely everything….walk from station to hotel. Great value for money.

Room Tip: Just carry your case to the Hotel from the Railway

Stayed here at Easter as our base for the EuroHockey League KO16.

Excellent location, short walk to restaurants, Dam Square in the evenings.
Next to Central Station which we needed to get out to Bloemendaal very early 2 mornings.
Room was good size, very clean. Excellent shower.

No noise problem being next to Central Station.

I stayed in the Hotel for one night with some friend in may 2011. The Ibis Centre is close to the amsterdam centraal train station, just 3 minutes walking from when you get of the train.
lobby personel speaks fluent english and they are quite helpful when asked for direction in the city. Rooms are quite little, mine was a double room with one bed plus, as we where in 3.
Bath have a quite big an comfortable shower, with bath and shampoo gel.
I din't had any breakfast so I can't tell nothing about it. Non smoking policy is respected in every place inside the hotel.
Wifi connection is for payment only.
