“Tram 5 stop right in front”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2011

We had a great room, 405, with 4 single beds. The best about this hotel is the location - steps from Tram 5 stop which is 3 stops from Zuid Station. Zuid Station is one train stop from Schipol Airport. The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the museums.

Our stay here wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about either. The service was pleasant but nothing out of the ordinary, the room was smallish - as is most accommodation in Amsterdam (although we could only open the bathroom door about a thrid of the way because the bed was in the way) and the breakfast was so-so. Internet was too expense - the coffee shop next door has free wifi. BUT what a fabulous location right next to a tram stop which allows to you access to pretty well all of Amsterdam.
All in all we got what we paid for!

We just got back from staying at this hotel on July 3 2011. First off reception very rude. Breakfast was terrible. Microwaved eggs, microwaved mini hot dogs, cold cuts, not fresh fruit it was canned. Juice out of a machine, coffee out of a machine. not fresh. Yuk Yuk. Beds was better to sleep on plywood. Balcony had broken chairs, and God forbid you wanted a drink and asked for ice. Nope. Apparently ice machine broken for months, I was told to go myself next door to coffee and get some if i wanted ice. Terrible service. No thanks no more. It needs a makeover terribly.

The main thing about his hotel is the location, its in a residential area of the city with lots of great shops and food. The Tram stop is right outside the door. It is a short tram ride to the main things to see in Amsterdam. The place was clean and staff was good, but the bed was just terrible. I've slept on more comfortable mattresses in jail. The toilet seats were very uncomfortable as well. Also, the hot water in the shower was turned up so high that a child might burn themselves very badly. I scolded my hand in the sink which left a burn for days. This place has great potential but it just seems like they cut too many corners.

Very good service, helpful and friendly.
The room was clean and big. The mattress was too soft for my taste.
Breakfast was good. I´d come back again.

Rather expensive for position and overall quality of public areas but rooms were clean , serviced well and bathroom / shower adequate. It is a 20 minute ride on the No. 5 or 24 tram to the city centre but plenty of trams and the 7 euro 24 hour tram pass is good value if you want to see the city sights. Breakfast is served in a small area near reception but with a good selection of cereals, drinks and continental style food. Staff were very helpful and provided info. and maps of the city. A large supermarket is nearby [A/H] and reasonably priced restaurants are in the area .

Room Tip: The hotel is in a quiet area of the city .

This hotel is accessible from Schipol airport by train to Zuid station (6 mins) and from there on the 5 or 24 tram (3rd stop) - brilliant, arrived at hotel within 15 - 20 mins of arriving at airport!

The hotel is located in a very nice suburb south of the city. It is a comfotable hotel that provided very good value for money on a bed and breakfast basis.

The hotel is relatively clean but could do with a coat of paint in the rooms. That said the rooms were cleaned every day of our 4 day trip with clean towels provided everyday. The room was quiet and afforded a good nights sleep away from all the hustle and bustle of city life. We were allocated room 310 on third floor and to rear of hotel, it was fine.

Breakfast was very good and usual european style. Coffee/tea facilities available 24/7.

The hotel reception were very helpful and provided excellent advice for touring city.

The city centre is accesible by trams outside of the hotel via numbers 5 or 24. The transport system is fantastic and we recommend you obtain the Amsterdam card on either 24, 48 or 72 hours that really do provide value for money and all travel included.
