“Lovely stay at Conscious Hotel Museum Square”

Everything was just as it should be. Special note about the very friendly, casual staff! One tiny comment; breakfast is rather expensive. That's all. I already recommended the hotel to 3, very different kind of persons and they all loved it.

As the name suggests, this hotel cares about environment and everything in it reminds nature, green, and eco-substainibility. Breakfast is organic of course and in the lobby there is a wall made of real plants. I really recommend it to family, couples and friends...

I only stayed for one night in late April en route to another destination whilst my sister stayed on for a few more days. We arrived in the evening after spending the afternoon at the Keukenhof gardens and almost immediately had to head off for a concert at the Concertgebouw - this is literally almost across the road! The location is great - right near a tram stop and a short walk from the bus stop (with direct connections to Schipol airport, rather than having to change from train to tram). It was in the quieter museum district rather than some other accommodations in central Amsterdam.

The hotel: the street numbering is a bit bizarre so we were a bit puzzled by its exact location. There is a vertical garden in the lobby area. I did not rent a bike or purchase any snacks from reception. The free wifi (in the room) had excellent connectivity.

The room: the overhead lighting was a bit dim overall (although there were large windows - maybe helpful during the day... but the view was only of surrounding buildings and rooftops).
There were plenty of powerpoints, a cupboard with storage and an in-room safe. No fridge. It was still pretty cold in Amsterdam so we needed to use the room heater. Quaint bedside tables were tree stumps!

The bathroom: generously sized including handbasin space. Curiously the soap dispenser was on the other side of the bathroom compared with the handbasin.

Overall it was a nice place to stay in a handy location for the museum district.

Our room was on the ground floor. Big and very suitable for a family with two kids. Drawback was that the door is not very soundproof so we were disturbed a lot of times at nigth and in the morning by any talks, phones ringing and the noise of the swing-door from the reception.

Breakfast is OK, depends on the time when you are having it.

Stayed here for 4 nights, a quiet lovely place to stay. Hotel staffs are friendly, room is spacious (compared to other hotels that i stayed during my trip), clean and modern. The only con is that the heaters were switched off at middle of the night (is that the reason why the hotel could claim it uses 20% less energy than other hotels??). Not much restaurants nearby but you can easily catch Tram 5 or Tram 16 (within 1 minute walking distance to the trams stops) to get into the town.

Just a friendly reminder: If you bought HollandPass Tickets and wanted to exchange for the free either 1-day or 2-day transport pass, remember to exchange it at time when you collect your HollandPass Tickets at the GWK counter, before you jump into the tram. Some tram drivers are very unfriendly :(

We stayed at this place for three nights (if you book early, sometimes you can book it at a discounted rate), the hotel is very convenient (once you figure out the tram lines). The staff that greeted us on the day and who was on duty during the evenings was not very friendly at all. Please note there is no coffee making facility/kettle in the room, but there is a coffee machine downstairs which you can buy hot drinks. We did ask for hot water, which they allowed us to get from the machine for free. The room we stayed at was clean. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because it seemed very expensive, but there is a large supermarket (Albert Heijn) just opposite to the Concertgebouw so it was handy enough to get something to eat. I would definitely recommend it to other travellers.

If you are stuck with Hotel choices, this is not such a bad choice.
Contrary to apartments you may find in the city, the rooms are of good sizes and beds quite comfortable. But what i seemed to miss is "how" they promoted being eco-friendly... everything was very much like a regular hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpful with whatever needs you have.
I went during a peak season (Queen's Day - King's Day), meaning a night was OVER-priced and that is why I didn't find it a good deal, but outside peak days I think it would be quite proportional to what it offers.

Room Tip: if you are headed there when it's cold, ask for the room to be pre-heated.
