“Good value with Free Parking”
Reviewed August 15, 2014

The hotel is a basic hotel and nothing fancy. We were able to check-in late in the evening, and we had to pay at check-in. When we got to our room we discovered that the sink didn't work properly. We notified the front desk and the maintenance guy came soon after. He wasn't able to fix it so they gave us another room as well as a complimentary breakfast. The shower was a bit funny since it was hard to regulate the hot water. Otherwise it was a comfortable room with a decent bed.

The hotel staff gave good service and were friendly and helpful. They showed us where we could find a supermarket to buy food, which was about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. This was necessary as the breakfast wasn't worth 10 Euros per person. Glad we got one breakfast free.

The best thing was that we were able to park our car for free in the hotel parking lot. Most places I could find the parking cost 25-30 Euros per day. The tram to go into the city center was about 5-10 minute walk from the hotel and it was at least a 20 minute ride to Dam square. Also, it was easy to travel from the hotel to other nearby towns or cities.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the top floor. We had pigeons above us and it was hard to sleep with the thi...

The good bits .... Price, quite reasonable for a family sized room. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

The restaurant was OK. not a huge choice, especially if you have a fussy eater in your party (remind me not to take mother in law next time :) ) , but the food was hot and tasty and again service friendly. Price for 3 meals and a beer / soda ~€ 40.00

The location was out of town and as we had an 84 year old with us we opted for a taxi. The hotel used a taxi company that was good, friendly and again reasonable. We paid € 33 for a trip into town (same price for the trip to the airport - and for 3 people that was less than the shuttle buses which are €17 per person).

Tip - Try to get the Hotel to arrange a taxi to collect you from the airport. we were charged €45 to the hotel from the airport taxi company.

The room was OK - beds were comfortable, but no tea / coffee making facilities, holes in the curtains, a missing light bulb and missing curtain. To be fair to the hotel, they did resolve these issues but it shows that regular proactive maintenance isn't carried out

People with mobility issues make find it hard to use the bath if they were in the room we had due to the layout.

It does have free wifi

We didn't venture out in the evening due to Mother in Laws mobility, but there didn't seem much around locally (ie bars / restaurants). It served its purpose for a few nights I won't be rushing back

We stayed at this hotel for a short break in June, and were very pleased with the value and the comfort of the hotel, however we hadn't realised that we had to catch a tram which took approximately 35 minutes in the city centre. Saying that, it was a pleasant ride, the trams were every 10 minutes, and the ticket sellers on the trams were very nice and chatty too. The hotel was in a lovely spot next to a park (with parrots in the trees) and the tram stop was a delightful 5-minute walk away along the river path. The only other negative aspect of the hotel apart from its distance from the city, was the fact that there are no tea of coffee-making facilities in the room, although we discovered (on our way out) that you could make your own downstairs in the bar and take it up to your room if you wish.

The rooms are mediocre as they are, but what makes them awful is the fact that pigeons perch on ledges just outside the windows. This means that every single morning of our stay, I was awoken at 5:00am and had to routinely get up and chase them away as they make an unbelievable amount of noise. Infuriating to say the least.

What I like most, the relationship quality/price.
The cleanliness of the room could be better done. One day they forgot to make the room.
The situation is not really a problem. If you want to get downtown in less time, remember that you can change at Lelylaan station and take the Tramway number 2 instead of going on the whole route in tramway 17. I discover this in internet, the hotel never mentions this important fact to its clients.
The price of the breakfast is high considering the poor options of the bouffet. But in general terms the experience was positive.

I visited this hotel during summer, with my friends and it was the perfect choice for us, it was clean, the room
looked good enough, the people were very nice, the breakfast was ok if you are not pretentious.
It was a little bit far(10
min to the tram station - 15 min with the tram-2.8 euros/person) from
the Dam square, the tram worked until 12:00 in the night, once we had to take the taxi :26 euros from Dam square. For some young couples who took trips all day and all we needed was a place to sleep and shower, it was perfect!
