I stayed at this hotel after being booked in by a colleague, and it was not my first choice as I had not stayed there before. I was interested to try it however as I had already visited the very good Okura Tokyo Hotel. The location was a bit "out of the old town" for me but the experience was superb and I am very very happy I stayed there. Firstly the rooms are superb. very clean, great bathrooms with good showers and baths. All fittings are of highest quality and properly maintained. Small details like bath robes slippers and very personal helpful friendly service make this a great place to stay. The breakfast buffet is superb with the freshest ingredients prepared by very helpful chef. This hotel was a very refreshing experience from check in to check out!

I stayed at the Okura for a lovely weekend this June. It was my 6th stay at this hotel and I enjoyed the wonderful Junior Suite as well as the excellent service and the newly renovated spa and wellness center. The staff is very friendly and helpful and from the 16th floor I had a wonderful view of Amsterdam. The newly renovated room with the ensuite bath made you feel very comfortable. The restaurants are excellent and the rooftop bar is just amazing.
The neighbourhood is safe and it is nice to be away from the hustle of the city center.
The OKURA will always be my first choice in Amsterdam.

I stayed at Hotel Okura last summer and was by myself for two days and nights - I had one of their 'standard' rooms which was certainly deluxe by mst descriptions with a beautifully decorated room and ensuite bath (you could raise or lower the shade on the window between the bath and the bedroom for more or less privacy), tv with all the extras and a truly superb breakfast. What I most enjoyed was the neighbourhood the hotel was in - on the outskirts of the city and a fair walk from the train station, but right next to a lovely canal with lots of trees and grassy places and local shops - and about 15 minutes' walk into Amsterdam proper, but through interesting neighbourhoods. Othan walking into the city both days and several picture-perfect sunset walks around the hotel, I ended up frequenting their excellent restaurant on site (Ciel Bleu, one of the best places I've ever eaten) rather than trying some of the local places. The hotel was pricey but I defintiely thought it was worth being away from the city centre noise and hustle, and would stay there again in a flash. They had a beautiful bed - very lush and with the fluffiest pillows I've ever been given - but their was some noise in one of the other rooms and I ended up complaining at 1am. Other than that everything was fantastic.

Stayed here for the third time on Tuesday 25th June, and this place does not fail in any department.
As soon as you walk through the door the staff cannot do enough for you and attend to you every requirement.
The young lady on reception was excellent, she asked if where going anywhere in particular and if she could arrange any transport. I informed her we where going to a concert at Ziggo Dome but I did not know the way and wanted to use public transport.
She told us to settle in to our room and she would research this for us. The rooms themselves are lovely, spacoius and immaculately cleaned, which include a turn down service as standard. Onto the spa, there is everything you could think of, large pool, jacuzzi, steam, sauna, massage, a fully equipped gym to mention just a few of the features.
By the time we passed reception, Laura the member of staff had researched my request had printed the route including where to change and times of all trams and trains which was really helpfull.
Overall this is a truely amazing hotel with every thing you need including a selection of restaurants and bars. As I mentioned this was my third stay here and we have already booked another two stays for later this year. Highly recommended.

I had higher expectations about this hotel considering the Reviews here. The location was okay, not that far from the center around 10 min with tram or 30 min Walking. and there is a nice secure feeling about the area.

The room was nice *superior with view to the river. From the bed was a clear view to the bathroom, just a window separating the rooms - nice if your wife go shower but not if you have to take a dump ;-) but the room is nice and Clean but not more, not like wauw this is a five star hotel.

A nice touch is the desk which has easy access to Electric plug and internet and led tv with easy Connection from a pc or camera. Another nice touch is the Nespresso in your room, love that.

Service is okay but not five star, but i dont mean its bad just not so "more than you expect". I was dissapointed with the fitness Place which was really low class for my opionen. The pool was like in a normal 3 star hotel nothing special. That is in a spot what i mean the hotel is not really all in all so special that i would consider it 5 star. But okay i will still recommend people to stay because nothing is really wrong. Breakfast was also nice - just not live up to my expectations :-)

Beds are nice to the hard side which i like and you have a choice of different pillows

So if you get a good deal and you know what to expect im sure you will have a nice stay.

Okura Amsterdam has a certain reputation to uphold. Reception staff is helpful and professional.
Rooms are fairly big (i had a corner) but i noticed many sloppy mistakes. The garbage bin in the bathroom was broken and bent, the blankets on the bed were clearly very old and moldy and apparantely there used to be a painting of photograph at the wall which was gone as there was a colour distinction. Seems minor but were are talking about one of the top hotels of Amsterdam.

All three restaurants are top notch and while expensive deserve every credit they get. However, i have been to Twenty Third Bar and the bartenders are bit arrogant and make uninspired versions of known cocktails.

The location is not great and the bar on the top floor is simply disappointing but the rest of the hotel is great. The room are so clean, the beds are really comfy and the aircon and water pressure are excellent. Breakfast is a must and the staff are superb - they really try hard. Stay here if you don't have to be downtown.
