Booked here for 4 nights, got a fabulous room with balcony overlooking the main street and Dam Square. The room was very clean and the staff couldn't do enough for us. I would like to go back when the renovations are finished and stay again. Honestly couldn't fault here.

This hotel is in a great location; close to Dam Square and right across the street from the light rail system which is SO convenient. Note: buy a pass for the light rail system for the length of your stay, it's fantastic. The room was quiet and clean, the only downside was the size of the room and the bathroom, both were very small (the price per night was on the high side, I suppose for the excellent location). The restaurant was being re-done, so we went next door to the ROYAL98 for breakfast (@ 15 eruos) and it was fabulous.

Indeed, unfortunately we do not have facilities to serve our own breakfast currently due to renovations, so we're happy to learn that the offered alternative was to your satisfaction. And being that we are in a historic building, our rooms are all different from each other in size and lay-out, which adds character, but also limitations in other ways. But please feel free next time to discuss with our front office staff, as we are always happy to see if we can accommodate you in a better suited way. Once again, pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our lovely city.

Small rooms and very expensive. Rude reception. Location not worth money. Restaurant not open. Breakfast not included in £300 per night single room.
Won’t stay here again as felt very overpriced for what you get. A 1,000 better places to stay in Amsterdam.

Like me, if this is the first visit to Amsterdam and your looking for a good hotel in the perfect location then look no further. Hotel Amsterdam is walking distance to where you want to be. Red light district, museums, restaurants, bars and shopping. Everything is literally a stone throw away.
The hotel itself is clean and the staff are friendly and attentive too. Although there are maintenance happening on the outside of the hotel this wasn’t too disturbing for us.
Our room was made up daily however fresh towels were not provided but staff were happy to provide this for us upon request.
The shower was a bit temperamental, the water would go from warm, cold to then really hot then back to normal again. The bathroom had heated flooring which I thought was great.
Overall our stay was lovely here. It served its purpose and I would stay here again.

Regarding the towels, we have an environmental-friendly policy where we replace the towels on the floor, but those left on the railing or sink are considered to be designated for re-use by our guests. We are glad to read you were provided with a fresh set nonetheless, but our apologies if this policy did not come across during your stay.
As you mentioned, should you return to Amsterdam someday and book with us, we would love to welcome you back.

Truly the best location ! Only a minute walk to Dam Square. We could see the square from our room. Walking distance to everything you could need. Even the train station is just a 15 minute walk. Tour buses and Canal tours are also just a short 10 minute walk and the tram stop is directly in from of the hotel. From the minute we arrived to check in to the moment we checked out everything was great. Virginia and Claudia could not have been more helpful during our stay, answering all of our questions arranging taxi's and fixing any small problems we had, they really made us feel so at home in the hotel. Construction was going on in the restaurant and with our room being just above it at the front of the hotel I thought we would be in for a noisy few mornings...what a surprise that did not happen..by the time any construction started it was after 9am and we were already up and about :) Vouchers were available for breakfast at the hotel next door but truly with the amount of restaurants and take out with in a minutes walk we never felt the need for it.
Our room was wonderful and large with coffee maker that I used every day ! Very Clean ! Washroom was spacious...shower was large and water flow was good...did ask for extra towels as water does flow out of shower...but with extra towels on floor it was not a problem at all. If you use conditioner in your hair ...bring you own :) Our room was a Superior Room with sitting area. Well worth the money !!! Thanks for adding to what was a wonderful vacation :)
