The hotel is perfect placed 2 min, walking, away from dam square, nice and comfy rooms, very well equipped. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices, although a bit expensive.

They should do something in regard of the internet access policy. The concierge desk was very good informed and helpful.

Overall experience is good and I recommend the hotel

Nice hotel, great location, modern rooms. We booked through hotels.com and got a good fare including breakfast. Arriving at the hotel and learning we had reserved via internet they did not want to give us anything but a room with a bed; I was required to produce proof that my fare included breakfast "because our internet fares do not usually include breakfast", I was not allowed the hotel wi-fi " an additional 24 Euros per day for free use of our wi-fi" I had only the official TV channels "the full set of sky channels being available for the sum of 25 Euros per day"... So be careful: the hotel is great but everything besides your room, bed and towels will be at a charge! By the way: biggest beds are queen...No american King size beds.

I've finally given up on this hotel. I've stayed here 2 or 3 times a year for the last few years. The problem is wifi. The hotel enjoys a superb location, just a few minutes from the Central Station so you can step off your flight at Schiphol and into your room 30 minutes later. It's in a great neighborhood for walking: fairly close to everything.
The staff is proficient and reasonably pleasant in a follow-the-corporate-algorithm-no-exceptions, sort of way. And the rooms are fresh after the recent renovation. Breakfast is as typically over-priced as are most hotels in this category.
But the wifi is horrific. It has been glacially slow during each of my last 3 visits; so slow you cannot type on a distant server; so slow you cannot easily read a 2 page article; and this time so slow I had trouble sending text messages. And you pay dearly for it! Particularly irksome is the front desk convincing you to upgrade (for an additional 30 euros) so you can use all of your devices on wifi, instead of the standard daily 19 euro charge for a single device.
Each time the manager has responded courteously and promptly, each time the manager has said "they are working on it" and each time the problem is the same.Perhaps Renaissance should promote itself as an oasis apart: a place where business travelers can enjoy time away from the home office, reports that need to be read and written, away from customers they planned to meet; a place where travelers can truly get away from their family and friends.Or perhaps in order not to mislead Renaissance should at least let its guests know that reliably functional internet is still part of the future here.

Location: The hotel is situated a 5 minute walk from the Central Station. I would recommend the location as although it is very central it is just one street off of the beaten track and therefore very quiet in the evening. All sites are walkable but if not Central station has regular trams.
Hotel: The hotel has been recently refurbished and is bright and modern.
Staff: Reception staff and concierge were friendly, polite and helpful.
Room: Our room was a deluxe room on the 4th floor. It is was nice, clean with a comfortable bed, modern TV and a good bathroom.

Overall I would recommend this hotel due to its facilities and location... it was very much appreciated as a birthday treat.

Stayed here after booking through DFDS as part of our ferry package. Very good location, just a 5 min walk from the central station.
The rooms are good: the bed was really comfy and a nice bathroom with hairdryer.
The hotel is classed as 5 star; however I would say it is 4 star.
Wifi way too expensive, think it should be free considering the price of the rooms.

Just returned from 2 nights short break in Amsterdam, stopping at this hotel.
Checked in quick and 3 hours early by friendly staff.
We were stopping in the "Extension" of the hotel. Bit of a cold walk to the extention corridor, but it was snowy and -3!
Room was warm and comfortable. Everything "We" needed, including iron and ironing board.
Even a british 3 pin plug for our chargers etc.
We had breakfast included which was a vast choice. Full English etc and Continental.
Having said that, I would not have been happy paying 26e for it!!
Hotel is located in a quiet part of the City, but within easy walking for all sights and Central Station.
Will return and happily recommend this hotel
