“Fantastic hotel with very good attentive staff”
Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here from the 4th - 7th February.I booked this hotel through booking.com and have to say its the best hotel I have stayed in while on a city break.
The location, staff and hotel in general were first class,I couldn't recommend it any more.
Breakfast was included in our room rate and the selection of food on offer was superb.

I stayed here for a holiday weekend in January as one of my friends was there on a work trip. It reminded me of every other Marriott that I have stayed at in the US, but that wasn't a bad thing! The hotel is in a very central location and near a major tram stop, which helps in getting around. It's also very close to the Heineken Experience if that is something that you are planning on doing. Would stay there again!

I am currently here and having read many reviews before I booked in I had to write so that anyone considering this property book it! I have added to my top ten.

From the moment you walk in you can see it's a Marriott, warm welcoming staff, well dressed and proper business look about them. As a Marriott PP I did receive a very nice room up grade and access to the Executive Lounge lobby level. I had a mishap with my glasses on the flight over here and when asking the Concierge he immediately knew where to send me within a short walk. And within a half hour I had my old lenses installed in a brand new frame!!

Our room was all that someone that has traveled 10 hours would want, warm Marriott style rooms and comfortable. In past reviews I have read concerns about the heating so I turned mine up as soon as I got in, however after getting out of the shower had to turn it down!

Sorel's off the lobby is a great place for light dining, or a beer. Excellent onion soup. Executive Lounge has an excellent selection of food and drink, well worth the extra if paying for it.

We are leaving to Africa for a safari and returning in a week, the hotel had gladly offered to store our excess bags until we return for a longer stay, that we are now looking forward to returning.

Bottom line, stay here and enjoy as much as we are.

We stay here often while visiting friends/family/events in the Amsterdam area. It feels always very good to come back! Every time they try to give us the same room as always! Nice room on 9th floor overlooking Leidseplein. Location is very convenient for shopping/dining/musea etc. Very, very friendly staff! Loved Annemarie at the "at your service" phone!! She knows how to treat guests! Everybody very friendly and welcoming. They upgraded their toiletries to L'Occitane products! Nice touch! Valet parking top! Although expensive they do have packages where it is included! But also very easy reachable by public transport! Love to go back soon again!!

Second time in 12 months - it got even better. A great mix of international and Dutch flavors. Spent a week here for a trade shoe in the RAI. Great location with easy access to the RAi (15 minute cab ride) and all the tourists things outside the door. Thrilled to find an US outlet (120v) right next to the European outlets. House-keeping was excellent as was evening turn-down service. In-room safe and plenty of storage space. Took advantage of the Executive package which included access to the Executive Lounge and free internet access. Good deal considering the morning wait-staff would get you whatever you wanted from the kitchen upon request. The continental breakfast spread would put US hotels to shame as would the free, yes free, wine and cocktail service at night. Front desk staff was the best I've ever encountered outside of a Ritz. Ask the Bellman/Concierge for almost anything and the answer was almost always "I can do that."

Room Tip: Ask for the canal side. The Dutch don't use their horns so the streets are quiet and the view i...

I had a one night stay in Amsterdam and this hotel exceeded all of my needs. It was in a very convenient location with comfortable and quiet rooms. Their desk set-up included an extra US voltage plug -very helpful. The executive lounge was outstanding. Great food and very generous hours on a Sunday. Very helpful staff. I had to grab a train to a small town south of Amsterdam and they made sure it was an easy experience. They also knew the particulars of the City's musuems, their hours, and the easiest way to get to them. I would certainly return.

Located almost in the midst of the city, it is in close proximity to the busy shopping and eatery joints. Vondel Park is just a minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel has very comfortable rooms, great food on their menu and the staff quite friendly !
The tram station is right outside and it virtually connects you with the rest of the city.
Overall, great city, good hotel, lovely stay !
