Very nice hotel, just across a canal from what I would call the central part of Amsterdam. Rooms were very nice in size and were decorated tastefully, mattress was perfect and there were both feather and synthetic pillows to use. Overall a very nice place.

My only issues are: (1) Internet was pricey: just because the other hotels charge €20 rate does not make it right (if someone you knew stole from a grocery store that does not make it right, so the hotel should not try to justify their practices); and (2) I wish that there was a water kettle and the items needed to make tea and coffee in the room.

Great location. Can catch a bus across the street that goes directly to the airport for a very low price. Great concierge staff (can rent bikes directly from hotel). Terrific park next to the hotel to catch a great run or people watch. Can catch a canal cruise right across the street. Walk to many bars and restaurants. Rooms are standard, renovated Marriott rooms that should please most everybody.

Had access to the lounge and I have to say it's one of the best louges. Complimentary beer/wine/spirits, good food selection at all hours, friendly staff, lots to choose from.

This is an excellent choice for a business or leisure stay in Amsterdam!

We won this hotel on a priceline bid, and stayed for three nights.

The beds in the hotel were just great, so comfortable! Our room has a great view over Leidseplein and Amsterdam, so really cannot ask for more. Bathroom a bit on the small side, and the shower head was a bit leaky --> not quite five star in this department.

The hotel has a good gym.

In Amsterdam, we bought a 72 hour travel pass from a vending machine at the Central Station. There is a little building outside Central Station for tickets and info, but the queues were so bad, so I went back inside the station, and eventually managed to locate a vending machine that sells these GVB tickets instead of train tickets. We ended up taking the trams a lot to get our money's worth.... ha ha... although it seems there is no policing of tickets esp in the centre. It seems that some trams only allow entry via a conductor, so you got to get a ticket.

The tram stop for the hotel is Leidseplein. It is a little walk from the tram stop to the hotel itself, including crossing a big road in front of the hotel.

Downside - internet access extra cost.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the square (Leidseplein).

I've stayed at this Marriott about 7-8 times, working for the Dutch-based Philips conglomertae. The Amsterdam Marriott is a solid hotel, offering all of the standard amenities that Marriott provides business travelers.

Location wise, it is a two-minute walk from the Leidseplein square, very close to restaurants and the opera. It is also a 5 minute walk from the highest end-shopping streets in Amsterdam.

The breakfast buffet is excellent and they also have a cafe that will provide Pizza Hut type food in the evenings.

This hotel has a great location. Close to the museums and close to the boat rides. One thing that bugs me is that I forgot a T-Shirt there, I returned the following week and they have a bible filled with "lost stuff" written down and they said they have no record of it. The breakfast buffet was also great and I loved how they have a suite just for elite members.

We stayed here this past June after completing an 18 day river cruise from Budapest. We felt right at home with great Marriott comfort. Rooms are clean and spacious and live up to their name. Very quiet hotel in a very busy area. Close to all shopping and transit. Concierge set us up with day trips to Antwerp, the Hague and Brussels. Nice but pricey hotel restaurant and fine gift shop with very pretty dolls.( Have three granddaughters). Only concern is the business center does not have complimentary internet. The terminals are run by a private company in Germany.Had a small billing problem that American Express took care of. Highly recommended would stay here again. Front desk staff very helpful with everything,

Room Tip: Some rear facing rooms have no view, only machinery

Stayed 2 nights for a work trip and everything was just right - easy check in, express check out via the TV was so simple, clean, large room, comfy bed, large breakfast selecion. The area Leidesplain is lovely, busy but not seedy like the centre can be. Concierge, door staff, receptionists all great and super helpful. I recommend it!
