Large corporate hotel with good service and facilities. Rooms are clean, well decorated and functional. Fine breakfast, though the restaurant was very crowded at 8am on the 3 days we stayed. We had two evening meals at the hotel which were served as buffets to the coach party I was in. The food was OK but not inspiring. There was limited choice of desserts, though, and they were uninspiring. People on other deals were served in another part of the restaurant and ate from a better a la carte menu, which I suppose was fair enough as they were paying considerably more than we did.
The hotel is 15/20 minutes outside central Amsterdam but on tram line 4 with the station literally a couple of minutes away - take the side door out of the hotel, turn right, turn left at the road and the stop, which is the terminus of the tram line, is a minute away. Tickets are 7.50 Euros for a 24 hour tram/bus pass, or 2.80 Euros for a single trip. You can buy tickets on the tram from the conductor, who has a little desk near the back, or if there's no conductor on the driver will sell you a ticket. There's a stop near Albert Cuyp market (Mkt-Stad) which is also nearest to Museumsplain for the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum, a 10 minute walk from the stop, a stop at Dam for Dam Square, or Central Station for the north side of the city.
