1 of the best hotels I have stayed in and for the price its fantastic. The hotel is within walking distance of all the sights in the city but for the lazy people like myself there is a tram stop outside the hotel which goes everywhere in the city. The food is excellent and the service we found to be first class, easily approuchable and very help full. I would definitly recommend it to anyone staying in amsterdam.

This was an ideal hotel for a weekend break. We had a very spacious triple room and good sized twin room. We wondered when we booked if it was a bit away from the centre but in fact it was an easy stroll to the museum area and the Vondel Park is only 5 minutes away. Breakfast was good and there are lots of little restaurants and cafes within a short walk if you don't want to go back into the busier parts of Amsterdam in the evening. We didn't use public transport as we preferred to walk, but there is a tram stop very close by.

Room Tip: Rooms facing onto the Lairesesstraat may get traffic noise so you could ask for one at the back.

The Hotel was in a great location. You can quickly get to many major sights: Vondelpark, Rembrandt and Van Gogh museums. The overall standard of the hotel is satisfactory and the staff is helpful. The hotel is close to Albert Heijn store where you can buy something to snack.

We spent 5 nights in Amsterdam over the New Year period. The hotel was in a very good location away from the centre of the city, easily accessible by No. 16 tram from the Central Station or tram stops in the city centre. It wasn't too far to walk into the city either, which was sometimes as quick as taking a tram and very good exercise! The breakfast was excellent and the staff were always pleasant, accomodating and helpful. We did notice that our room had a bit of a superficial clean on New Year's day but that was to be expected as it was a holiday after all, it was at least clean and tidy with fresh towels! Our triple room on the 3rd floor was a good size with comfortabe beds and a decent size bathroom. The direct bus to and from Schipol Airport stops at the Concertgebouw which is conveniently located only a short walk from the hotel. We would stay here again.

We were in Amsterdam from Old Years Eve and this obviously caused some service problems. Nevertheless, we were not that impressed.

Rooms we had were on the top (5th) floor and this meant we were effectively in the attic. This, in turn, meant we had to climb onto the bed in order to see out the windows. Probably would have preferred not to be there and so would ask for fourth floor. Also meant the rooms were very hot. The radiator was off and the rooms were still hot and they did not know why. Beds were OK and pillow very hard and big. Cleaning of the rooms was shoddy and we did not feel great on this front.

Staff were mizerable most of the time and we found them to be rude. Obviously there were exceptions, but overall impression over 6 days was not good.

The area is a very nice residential area and there are some nice resturants close by. Very civilised but if you want to get to the heart of the city it required a tram or 30 minute walk. You can waly to Rijks Museum and van Gogh quite easily, but other attractions are quite far.

Room Tip: not fifth floor

myself and 2 friends stayed for 3 nights last week. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good and there was a variety of food to choose from. The only thing we all found was that the restaurant was always full for breakfast and it was hard to find a seat. The hotel was not in centre of town , but, it was not a problem as the trams run very very regularly. I would definitely stay again and would recommend

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend (3 nights). The hotel is nicely located away from the immediate centre of Amsterdam but close enough to walk (15 minutes). The hotel is clean and well maintained and the room was a good size and nicely decorated. We had a room at the front and were worried this would be noisy. However, with the windows closed, you could not hear a thing from outside but if you like to have a window open you should take some earplugs like we did. The staff are excellent and very helpful from the moment we arrived. We were given a local map and had all of the places of interest marked for us. The tram stop is one block away and goes straight into the heart of Amsterdam within a few minutes. The area is quiet and pleasant with a large park very close by. The breakfast is very good but it can be busy if you catch it at the wrong time. The restaurant and bar were usually quiet although the food and service were good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and happily stay here again.
