I have to admit I have stayed at the Dikker many times now and just realised I have never done a TA review. The D&T has the feel of one of those small family run hotels you get on the continent. Everything is comfortable, it feels like home. The rooms are typical for a city hotel, but NOT at all cramped. The last room I stayed in (a double) had more than enough space. The staff are friendly and helpful, and its location is superb. Just off Leidestraat, a few meters away from Leidesplein, this is a great area for bars and cafes, and also other shops (supermarkets, clothes, deli's etc). Slightly away from the main drag of Amsterdam (Dam Sq etc), but walkable. Breakfast is buffet. with some hot items alongside the rolls, pastries and cereals. The D&T is not snooty as some places in Amsterdam are, neither is it so cut-price to be unstay-able. I have stayed here with my company and also privately and will do so again. A hidden gem.

Room Tip: Inward facing rooms will be quieter. Ask if you want a view

Nice hotel on the edge of the canal ring so it's pretty close to everything. We were able to walk just about anywhere in the canal ring and dam square within 20 minutes. There is a tram stop about one block away so that's also an option if you don't want to walk. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is my 12th times in the city and this was the gretest accommodation.
The stuff is great!
I was suppressed to see the size of the room. The view was just wonderful
And the location…is nothing less than perfect.

A very nice hotel, I stayed in the 4 floor - in a big & clean room with a beautiful view. An excellent location - close to all you need at day tima & night time (5 - 20 minutes wolking from everywhere)

Lovely hotel on the Prinsengracht. We had a Superior room with a canal view and balcony on the 5th floor. It was spacious, had a lot of natural light and a good cooling system. We were able to walk to the Anne Frank house, Flower market on Singel, get a Lovers Canal cruise at the Leidesplein, and walk to the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum from this hotel. We took the Fyra train from AMS Schiphol Airport to AMS Centraal train station and then bought a GVB chipcard and you can take tram # 1 or 2 to the Leidesplein stop. It is only a 2 block walk to the hotel from the Leidesplein. To get oriented when you get off the tram look for the corner with the New York Steakhouse and the Randstadt store. Walk down that street past the Starbucks, McDonalds and the hotel is on the left corner across from a bakery.
