I have written a full review of this hotel over on my blog, with plenty of photo's, which you can view here http://www.closbeautyspot.com/2014/03/hotel-estherea-amsterdam.html

Overall this is a wonderful hotel, nicely decorated, room was spacious, staff were friendly and helpful, and good location right in centre.

Bad points are that the window of the bedroom did not face outside but into a courtyard. And also cooked breakfast is not good, more suitable for continental taste.

We spent 4 nights at the Hotel Estherea in early March 2014. An excellent hotel in the old part the City within easy walking distance of many of the city's attractions, including the Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum, Flower Market, Dam Square and 10 minutes from Central Station. The staff were very helpful. The hotel does not serve dinner but there are many good restaurants very close to the hotel. We arrived in Amsterdam on an early flight and the hotel was happy to accept our luggage before the room was available for check-in so that we could enjoy the day without our cases. This was our first stay and we would have no hesitation in returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking an internal courtyard if you are looking for a quiet room.

Great value, great charm and comfort in the old the City. The staff are great and very open to assisting. I have stayed there for several years on trips and will return. The location is walking distance from the Central Station sitting elegantly on the Singel Canal. Just a quick walk to the flower market, the Anne Frank house and to Dam Square. Not to mention, Broodje Bert is a great breakfast/lunch spot on the corner.

We were really delighted with the hotel. As soon as we arrived I was struck by the lovely atmosphere, fab decor and delicate scented undertones of cut flowers, orchids and spring bulbs and straight away I had a real sense of being in Amsterdam. Our room was very comfortable, small, but this must be indicative of the wonderful architecture and clever use of space in the traditional tall canal side residences. Very comfortable bed, excellent en suite with lovely L'Occitane products, a further sensory experience. We preferred the offering of teas and coffee in the main reception area on ground floor when we could sit and enjoy the variety of rooms there, in the library, the bar etc as the decoration and comfort were so well appointed and it all seemed much more civilised to the UHT individual pots with instant coffee sachets in bedroom. I loved and appreciated the attention to detail with flowers and plants being abundantly refreshed and also enjoyed the quirky table arrangements. The location was perfect for us to navigate ourselves around the city centre and the joy of being able to walk around, going to and from our hotel made for a perfectly relaxing time. Near attractions, shops, restaurants and bars. Loved it and will return. Nearly forgot to mention the unobtrusive and excellent customer service from every member of staff we encountered. Thanks Hotel Estherea ❤️

My wife and I spent a few nights at Hotel Estherea in February, and we could not have been more pleased. Everything about the hotel was lovely, and the staff was a joy to work with. The location is terrific: we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. We've already recommended the hotel to friends. And if you can be there next Valentine's Day, you're in for a treat.

Wonderful in all ways, just what we needed for our wedding anniversary treat. Breakfast was delicious with lots too choose, this canal area is ideal for walking and talking and eating and drinking. A charming hotel, beautifully decorated and to top it all we had the best margaritas ever (and we try them whenever we are away) - the staff were very helpful - we will definitely return - love amsterdam!
