Stayed for 3 nights at the hotel estherea from 5th january. we were pleasantly surprised on arrival as we were greeted with a charming lobby equipped with lovely sofas, fishtanks, internet (free) services and friendly staff. Location was amazing and although the rooms are typically small, they are functional and comfortable. We had asked for a canal view and this really added to our enjoyment.

Would highly recommend this property and definitely will rebook on my return to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Canal view room

I booked two rooms for my mother, sister my son and I. We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas. I had stayed at the hotel 2 years earlier with my son and we had been quite pleased with the hotel. The lobby remains to be filled with eye catching fish, and other features, there are several sitting areas and a friendly bar. We had the upgraded rooms that were small but had everything we needed and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub. There is complementary coffee, tea hot chocolate, water available at all times and usually some cookies or chocolate too. The breakfast, complementary if you are a member of the loyalty program, is large and features hot and cold offerings. Be sure to enjoy the smoothies. For Christmas, we found a nice tin of cookies delivered to the room. The staff are friendly and helpful and the general feeling of the hotel is wonderful. if you want a small, affordable personable hotel a short walk from everything, located on the beautiful Singel canal you can not go wrong with the Hotel Estherea. Location wise, Dam Square is about a 10 minute walk, 20 minute walk gets you to about any major part of the city. Good restaurants and shoppes are within a 5 minute walk. I look forward to my third visit.

Have just returned from our annual trip to Amsterdam. Travelling with us this year was an "Amsterdam virgin" having never visted the city before. The room was beautiful with views over the canal, Singel. The service was exemplary and breakfast good enough to keep you going all day. The hotel now offers its own bicycle hire service and the service and quality of bicycle was far better than others we have prviously used in the city.

Room Tip: Canal rooms have the best view but can be a little noisy if you retire early. I particularly like 11...

This hotel proved a great find.

From the prompt and helpful email responses on booking, to the friendly service offered by reception and the concierge, we were sure that our brief stay ( with 2 children in tow) would be a hit. The hotel is quietly and centrally located on Singel, close to a good selection of boutique shops, restaurants etc.

We stay frequently in Amsterdam ( usually at Hotel de l'Europe or the Amstel) and will now try to return to this little gem. It is reasonably priced, offers a good breakfast, water, biscuits, coffees and teas on tap and has family rooms of an adequate size.

The decor is really charming and the accomodation comfortable. Why pay for five star when four star delivers?

Great service (free good coffee and snacks all the time) in a very central location...perfect to rest for a few minutes before continuing the sightseeing.

Hotel is quite pretty with nice and comfortable rooms (esp the beds) and even a jacuzzi in our room. The staff is very friendly too.

The room that I had overlooked the canal and was an ideal setting where you could just chill out and relax. The atmosphere of the hotel is superb and the staff could not be nicer. Location was very convent and within walking distance of most attractions.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights over New Year and both felt this was one of the best hotel experiences we'd had. The staff were really welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us out-from finding and booking us a fantastic New Year's Eve restaurant to helping us with all our questions and suggestions on where to go, they really were awesome. We also think we had the best room in the hotel, with a balcony, jacuzzi and 4 poster bed to watch the NYE fireworks which were also amazing, if a little crazy! They also had lots of little nice touches like little bottles of prosecco waiting in our room for nye with a little poem-a simple nice touch which for me sums up this hotel. The location is awesome, it's central so you're minutes from lots of nice restaurants and shops but quiet enough to completely relax. The reception is lush and comfortable (with a very cool fish tank) and our room was large, comfortable and quiet. All in all we both agreed this was one of our best New Years Eve experiences ever, and hotel Estherea was definitely a big part of that.

Room Tip: Go for a deluxe room, it's worth it
