“Great hotel, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2011

Really nice hotel, very clean very comfortable, had a lovely room even though it was not a canal view. Free computers and internet in lounge, free coffee and tea in lounge area all day.Had to pay 16 euros extra for breakfast which caught us by surprise.

The staff was wonderful...even remembered our name when we returned from touring...I was impressed with the room size! Bathroom was small, but immaculate.A great location! The rose colored walls, and muted lighting were cozy for our March stay.Highly recommend. The coffee and hot chocolate station, with cookies, were greatly appreciated!

Just came back from one night stay at this hotel and we wish we could have stayed a few more nights. We got an upgrade to a room with the canal view up on the 4th floor, it was a good size room and had a romantic feel to it. The hotel is in a very nice canal belt and is close to many eateries. The hotel has a lovely cosy atmosphere, especially with all day self-service to coffee and hot chocolate which was very welcoming with the cold weather. Amsterdam is a fabulous city and whenever we come back to it, we would definitely be staying at this hotel.

I had a business meeting in Hengelo. I flew from the USA, I spent my first night, and my last night at this hotel.

The staff was fantastic. My first day, the weather just did not cooperate. Cold and rainy. But the hotel lent me their umbrella so I could sight see.

I had a canal view which was very nice. But I found it very nice just opening my laptop in the parlor area, which also overlooked the canal. They had a great coffee machine that made latte's, espresso, hot chocolate and "American Coffee" (whatever that is).

I found the breakfast overpriced for what you got, so I would probably go somewhere nearby to eat next time.

It's location is great. 2 blocks from the palace, and shopping. I walked to Ann Frank's house, the center train station, the historic museum.

The hotel has good internet access, and several english channels on TV. The rooms are very well decorated, and clean. In European terms, these rooms are very spacious. You will not regret that you stayed here.

Truly central hotel. Pick the canal view if you can (obviously more expensive but it's worth it). Friendly staff. Next time we go to Amsterdam, we won't need to look for another place to stay. This is it!!

This is the 2nd time I have stayed here in the past 6 months and will be sure to stay again. Make no mistake this is a very understated, comfortable boutique hotel on on of Amsterdams pretty canals. It is clean, quiet, comfortable and as I mentioned understated. I like the fact that it is not a cookie cutter chain, but more like a private club. The lobby although small leads into a lovely lounge area with books and newspapers. The rooms although not large are very comfortable and clean. I would describe the decor as 'traditional' and perhaps ever so slightly fussy, but the comfort and cleanliness is out of this world. I haven't had breakfast here either of the times I stayed so can't comment on that, or room service. It is very well located on 'Singel' and you definitely feel as though you are in a part of Amsterdam that is more local in feel, although just 2 minutes from Royal Palace. There are several bars, restaurants, cafes and coffeeshops within a couple of minutes walk.

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It was the cleanest most opulent hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were lovely, complementary coffee, hot chocolate, cakes, biscuits and huge jars of sweets available all day. Rooms were big enough and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
