We had just had the best stay possible in Amsterdam - this hotel is a gem! You couldn't find a nicer hotel with staff to match. The rooms are a bit on the small size, but you could eat your food off the floor! The bedlinen is as white as snow and starched to perfection. They have a lovely little bar and breakfast room and the actual location is spot on. It is by one of the canals (naturally) and only 5-10 minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle of all the bars and the redlight district! We can't recommend it enough - go and experience it for yourselves

Uniquely decorated rooms with every convenience, the staff were the friendliest and probably the most efficient we have ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble from booking restaurants ,booking taxis and giving local advice. we will most certainly return.

Chose The Toren because of the very positive reviews on Trip Advisor. And the Toren lived up to everything written about it and more. The hotel itself is very comfortable and in a great position but the staff are just so helpful and charming that they alone are a great reason to stay there. After our stay we were flying to the UK for a week and wanted to leave our large bags at the hotel until our return. It was absolutely no problem at all. The hotel was only too happy to store them for us.

Everywhere is in easy walking from the Toren so if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Amsterdam, do yourself a favour and book The Toren. You wont regret it!!

We stayed here during XMas in 2011. Haven't had the time to post my review earlier.
The Toren is an old big house converted into a boutique hotel. Located in the heart of old Amsterdam, this is a wonderful place to stay. The front desk people were quite helpful when we wanted to find a dining place for xmas eve.
The rooms are decorated in dark colors but the lighting goes well. The furniture is also the old style, black & woody. The curtains, the bed cover, etc combine well with the set up. Comfortable bed though we felt it could have been a bit more softer.
The neapresso coffee machine is a nice addition. Though its styled more like the ones in offices.
The bath was nice & classical style with nice set of toiletteries.
Unlike the asian hotels, room slippera are not provided. TV was not worth mentioning. No DVD player either.
The rooms are small in size though & located on the canal which is close to an Albert Heijn supermarket & all places around Old Amsterdam area are within walkable distance. Excellent breakfast & we liked the breakfast area a lot. It also doubled as a bar.
If u r expecting a spacious hotel with swimming pool & jazzy restaurants or pubs, this is not the place.
However if u r looking at a nice, boutique & romantic place, then The Toren is the place. Its unique.

This is a lovely hotel. YeI will be back. the rooms are small and the decor will not be to everyone's liking, but this is agreat hotel.

The staff are great. They cannot do enough to help and know lots of great places etc. Take their tips on restaurants.

The location is great. It is close to evrything that you want and not close to places I would not like to stay in.

Rooms are well appointed. Coffee machine, Ipod player.

Beds and pillows great.

I do not normally eat hotel breakfasts but theirs is great.

In short, next time here, i
