Two of us were wondering around trying to find something different to eat we were about to give up when we found this place, the woman serving us was very friendly & helpful. I had the bacon & mustard soup, it was heavenly (I need that recipe!) even my partner liked it & he hates mustard!! The atmosphere & decor felt like a real local place as opposed to just catering for tourists, it's well worth a visit!

They have the typical kind of dutch brasserie food like liver with onions . You can also go in for just a drink. It good be very crowdy at times so if you want a table it is better to make a reservation .

You won't go hungry, not by a long shot. Had dinner here with extended family. Reservations are required for dinner, especially on weekends, but it is totally worth the effort. Everything on the menu is great - believe me, we tried almost everything - and the portions will satiate even the hungriest person.

The warm "brown" pub atmosphere is extremely welcoming and the staff are all friendly.

Wandering through Amsterdam, getting further away from our hotel and about to give up on finding a meal, we gave this one a shot. It's not always easy to find somewhere nice to eat in Amsterdam, we were looking for something local and not trashy. This place is a bit of a walk from the main tourist areas, but was worth it for a fun night.

We ate the fillet of lamb, and something made of fish (sorry, it was a while ago now). Food was generally good, but for us the highlight was the service. We were the last table for the night so we invited the waitress and chef to have a drink with us when everyone else had left, Frederique was a great person to chat to and in learning more about the local life we enjoyed our night much more greatly than if we'd been sitting alone eating dinner while the staff waited for us to pack up and go.

It felt like a real local place, and we were very happy to visit. Don't go for an incredible meal, although it is probably better than many alternatives in the area. Instead, go if you are interested in a 'real' amsterdam experience.

Ate here yesterday evening. Could not have chosen a better place to eat.

We were just walking along, no real plans and saw this place, quite busy inside, so a good sign.

Excellent food, service, ambience. Very friendly.

Calves liver to die for. Apple Cake utterly fantastic.

Try it. It is about 5 minutes walk from Central Station.
