It was a pleasant stay at the nice design hotel. It is a new hotel, so some things have to be done still, but not mayor things. It all looks nice and the location is marvelous, right in the centre. We really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Each room has a special design, designed by students of Amsterdam Design Academy. So inform at the h...

a unique hotel! You can choose your own number of "stars" rating. That varies per room. All the rooms are unique decorated and offer good to excellent comfort. A very trendy fashion hot spot. very near all famous "must do's" in Amsterdam. Good breakfast and a very nice shop complete your stay in this hotel!

Fantastic location, close to Central Station and near many shops, restaurants and cafes. Good value for money. Room was small but perfect for a short stay and the room was decorated simply but enjoyable. Everything was clean and tidy, had no problems and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is situated in a great location, on the Damrak with the Central Station at one end and Dam Square at the other, so it's really easy to walk everywhere. The bedroom was really funky, very modern with cool decoration taking over one wall. The hanging space was minimalist to say the least though, as the 'wardrobe' only had 3 hangers, so lucky we were only staying two nights! The room was spotless and very spacious. The shower was excellent and the beds were very very comfy. All staff were courteous and polite. I would recommend this hotel if you're in amsterdam for a fun weekend and want to be located closely to the centre - beware if you're a light sleeper though as the trams and traffic outside were quite audible!

Room Tip: Ask for a room to the back of the hotel or on a higher floor for a quieter nights sleep

The main street opposite the central station of Amsterdam is a street I usually avoid. But now I’ve fund a quiet haven between the ugly tourist-trap restaurants and ticket counters.
The door of the hotel The Exchange is hard to find, you really need the address: Damrak 50. A narrow hallway leads to a hidden gem, a fantastic design hotel with amazing rooms – all decorated by students of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. It is not a huge hotel with a fancy lobby, but a special treat to those who love the combination of old houses, 2-3 step staircases that lead to yet another floor and modern surprise- interiors. An elevator is available to almost all floors.

Room 321 is spacious and covered with prints of magazines, wall to ceiling. Room 322 is a bit smaller but very romantic in a light grey color and white paper-flowers all over the walls and ceiling.

A healthy breakfast is available at the restaurant next door’s, named Stock. A beauty in design and with delicious treats. Don’t forget to check the interior design & gift store next door’s, named Options. All 3 are from the same family and a welcome addition to the Damrak.

Room Tip: I love 321!

I would have given this hotel 5 stars for all aspects however I think that some coffee making facilities should have been provided. The coffee shop/cafe next door was very expensive and only accepted cards?! Also the bed in my room was broken.

Came late to the hotel and was upgraded to three star accommodation. Exciting desig for urban people. If you want a tradisjonert and boring hotels this hotel is not the place for you. I'll be back.
