My wife and I checked into this hotel for a 3 night stay as we explored Amsterdam as beginners. The location we felt was just right. It is far enough away from the city centre to be quiet and peaceful but close enough to enjoy the main attractions. It is around 6 stops to Westermarkt tram stop which is easy access to Anne Frank House and other connections such as the number 14 to Waterlooplein market and Artis Zoo which is an outstanding attraction.
You can pick up your I Amsterdam travel cards at Schipol Airport tourist information. For a short trip they are excellent value as you are entitled to free entrance to many museuems as well as free travel on trams and buses. This makes hopping on and off very easy.
This hotel offers a free shuttle bbus service from Schipol airport to Ramada Apollo. They can be found on the bus stops outside the airport doors. You mustbook a return to the airport at the hotel desk for a 5 Euro per person charge.
You can book breakfast on arrival also in the much advertised 17th floor which provides a lovely view of the whole city. It is a buffet service and they cater reasonable well for vegetarians. It is a little pricey at 35 Euros however if are looking for convenience and comfort before you start your day then it is a good option before you head into the city.
A 3 course buffet is available in the evenings for 26 Euro which we were keen to check out however if you are vegetarian, the options are quite limited as many of the dishes were meat. However it is very easy to head into the city so it is worth planning ahead on that front.
The rooms were excellent containing everything you need for a short break. The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfy and the noise levels are very low. If you are lucky enough to get a view also, a photo does not do the skyline justice when you can scan the nightlife with your eyes.
The bathrrom is very stylish with a brilliant easy to use power shower and the cleanliness service of the room was excellent throughout our trip. The help desk was always on hand to help with our queries. Everyone was very poilte and friendly and we really enjoyed our stay.
