We went on a citytrip to Amsterdam for 4 days. We arrived with the Thalys and then took the tram that stopped right in front of the hotel. We were warmly greeted by Robert at the front desk. Check in went easy and we were very pleased with the lobby of the hotel, it was warm, well decorated and even had the opportunity to buy some drinks to take to our room. The room was perfect, 2 beds, nice TV, great view, the only thing maybe was that the shampoo & showergel came from the same dispenser instead of little bottles. We were very happy with breakfast the next morning on the 17th floor. Lot's to choose from.
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel and will go back again.

Room Tip: Not to high up, we could hear the music of the bar, which is at the 17th floor, we were staying at t...

The room we stayed in was a very overpriced standard double (two singles pushed together) but had a great interactive tv to order from or find places to go in Amsterdam. The view was terrible, if you were able to look beyond the main road, the high rise apartments you could see a small green area but no where near what it looks like in the photos on the hotels web site. The hotel was a bit away from the city centre but tram gets you there in a few minutes.

The sky bar was incredible though with amazing views of the whole city and the dinner was expensive but delicious. The steak was unreal.

My Husband and I stayed here 15-17th Feb 2013, Reception staff were welcoming and we were offered a free upgrade as were the couple we were with which is always a good start, The room was immaculate and the bed was extremely comfortable and we slept later then intended due to the peace and I didn't find the square pillows a problem.

The hotel is 15 mins from the centre but a tram runs from outside the hotel every 10 mins the last one back being at 12am We tended to buy the 2.70e 1 hour tickets as we were staying in the centre all day and not getting another tram until the last one so it worked out cheaper, You can pay on the tram so don't worry about change and when you get on for your return just ask the ticket seller to let you know when your at Ramada Apollo, they did every time for us quite happily.

The 17th floor restaurant and bar is simply stunning! Although we didn't eat there the staff we happy to let us look round and take some pictures of the views and even stopped working to take some pictures of us in there.

This being my 6th visit to the wonderful Amsterdam and definitely not my last I would without a doubt make sure that I stop here next time, for me the design, cleanliness and staff at the hotel were absolutely perfect.

Room Tip: We got an excellent deal of £155 pp for flights and 2 nights here from Lastminute.com.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in February.
Room was very modern clean and attractive, the hotel is situated out of the city but about 150 metres to the tram stop which runs approx every 18 minutes. Buy a day ticket at €7.50 per person grants you unlimited journeys on trams buses and metro for 24 hours.
Breakfast was a plus for the hotel, offering cold meats cheeses lots of fruit and cereal for the health conscious and scrambled eggs sausage mushrooms, beans even pancakes and maple syrup for those who just don't care. Remember if your on a tight budget a big breakfast sets you up for the day.
Drinks and food in the hotel are expensive, their much celebrated 17th floor bar serves cocktails and many other drinks, a mojito and a gin and orange will set you back €18, so you can imagine how expensive food can be. Hotels seem to always miss the trick here, if they were priced more competitively, they would surely be much busier.
Beds were not the most comfortable especially the large square pillows which didn't agree with me.
There's a free shuttle from the airport every 40 minutes, that you pay for only if you need the return journey back which is €5 per person, great value and both drivers were great.

If you want a good selection of food at cheap prices we recommend 'La Place' in the main centre of Amsterdam , if you arrive late at the hotel and need a quick fix, go out of hotel over the bridge, go past the KFC and turn right onto the main road, there's a turkish kebab shop on the opposite side of the road which was cheap and nice food with pleasant staff.

My wife and I went to the Holland Casino during our stay, firstly it's €5 to get in and most tables it's a minimum of €5 or €10 bet not like the £1 or 50p chips in the UK. Some staff are ok, others were either miserable or rude.

Hope you enjoy your stay

Spent 4 nights at the Ramada Apollo with our ten year old. Good rate from laterooms.com
Arrived at 9.00a.m and room was available .
Double bed actually two singles pushed together plus an extra small single for our daughter.
Comfy room, clean and very modern. friendly staff. room very quiet and didn't hear a sound all night absolute bliss. free shuttle bus to hotel.
Offered breakfast at check-in at 12 euros a day. Lovely breakfasr room , nice ambience ,great views and a very good selection of breakfast food.
Tram just outside hotel, we bought a daily ticket not realizing hotel sold 2 day tickets cheaper at reception we were not made aware of this at check-in.
Enjoyed a drink on the 17th floor bar very nice staff chatty and smiling.
There is a large supermarket behind the Queens Palace in Dam square where we purchased wine, water and snacks at very reasonable prices to bring back to the hotel.
Negatives: no cups and saucers/milk jiggers supplied in room only paper cups and powdered milk YUK....
no glasses supplied in room only plastic cups in bathroom. a couple of wine glasses would be nice.
Large square bulky cushions supplied instead of pillows very uncomfortable on your neck.
Positives out weigh the negatives .we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Room Tip: corner rooms are large e-mail hotel your request.

Made reservations for Ramada Apollo during stay in Berlin, upon arrival the grand opening was in progress and therefore No Bar available for the guests a mere possibility to buy a drink and a sandwich. This is not what I would call "service before self" ! Overall impression of Hotel Firts rate and very clean ! Hope for existence not too many managements parties in the future !

Room Tip: Rooms seem all to be very good !

The boyfriend and I stayed on the 17th feb 2013 for 3 nights after booking this through easyjet holidays. The hotel provided a free shuttle bus service from Schipol airport, which takes about 15 mins.

Check in was a bit slow due to low amount of staff at the check in desk but the staff were very friendly. Like many other travelers, the hotel asked us for a 50 euro deposit for each night. This was to cover them just in case the room experienced any damages and cover the mini bar costs. We did get the full refund after check out as well. They also provided a UK to Europe travel plug, which was handy as we needed to charge phones etc.

We stayed in room 906 and the room was comfy. The large bathroom mirror has a section that was slightly heated so steam from the shower would not condense on the mirror. This was very useful when the other half was showering and I was getting ready.

The number 13 tram stop is right outside the hotel and journey into the centre only takes around 15 mins. Great breakfast selection with both continental and cooked options. Views in the breakfast area overlooked Amsterdam.

Very very minor negatives were the very square pillows, lack of refilling the coffee tray in the room and slow service at the reception. Would stay again!

Room Tip: Choose higher floors as they have better views of Amsterdam
