“Great fun!”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Hard to understand, but there was so little visitors that day. We had a great time walking around. We borrowed headsets. The pictures was numbered, so we could hear a little story by pushing the same number at the head set. Interesting to see everything, starting downstairs in the kitchen, ending all the way up on the 4th floor watching a lot of drawings. It was a nice presentation of Rembrandt's atelier and a room with lots of items he collected through the years! All the old furnitures made you almost feel, that you walked straight in to a old century!

“Very nice worthwhile to see”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Very nicely done. Enjoyed seeing how they did printing and mixing the paints. Must be able to climb stairs. There is no elevators.

“A gem in a real neighbourhood”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Rembrandt lived in this house, and wandering around the rooms, the kitchen, or struggling up the narrow and dark staircase is a way to get an empathetic insight into the artist's life. The museum is in a vibrant neighbourhood - I lived here for a month in 2009. There are the synagogues (the Portuguese synagogue is fascinating and little visited.) The flea market. The non-Waterston bookstore. The friendly pubs and cafes. The canals. Puccini for coffee and cake. Little shops selling eccentric fashion. Do take time to linger.

“Rembrandt comes alive here”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

It's not about walls covered in paintings; its about a man and his technique and his surroundings and how he lived. I am not a great art lover but found this place really interesting - you might even get to make soem paint and learn about the secrets of colour mixing

“Interesting Art History”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

Rembrandt lived here and his story is fascinating. Through the museum you get a real experience of what life was like in his times. An interesting selection of his works and of his friends.
