“A great place, reasonably priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

I stayed for 4 or 5 nights at Hotel Restaurant Larende. For the cost of most rooms in the city, it is a bargain. The breakfast is better than most. It is extremely clean and, except for one guy who might have been having a bad evening, very eager, friendly staff. I was concerned about the location. It is a safe area convenient to everything. The trams stop almost at the door and can take you three different directions into town (train station, upscale restaurant and shopping, red light district, museums. The Anne Frank House is just a ten or fifteen minute walk.

It really wasn't that big a deal to me, but maybe for some people. Bring earplugs in case you face the street.

I'm already booked for my next time.

Room was about average size for Amsterdam. Tram lines run in front of the building for convenience to get into Centrum. Although this is a quieter residential neighborhood. Restaurant is a big plus. Having fresh pizza and Heinekens downstairs is far etter than braving the winter weather in search of dining. Weird there was no phone in room(?).

Handily placed by the 12,13, and 14 tram stop in a pleasant part of the city that is not over-touristy, the Larende provided the perfect base for exploring, using the city's excellent public transport. Our room was maybe a wee bit small, but it was cosy, clean and fully equipped. The wi-fi also proved an asset. The hotel has its own pizza restaurant which doubles as the breakfast room. Excellent breakfast, with healthy options.

I just stayed 2 nights, staff hotel is really nice, helpfull, rooms are good and clean, it's close of everything ( 20walking from the old amsterdam and shopping center) I did not use the tram.
The breakfast is good.
I become in Amsterdam in a few month, and i will become in this hotel.

The staff were extremely helpful. The location was great, quiet, yet easy tram ride downtown. (Or
a healthy walk). The rooms were clean and the beds were just right for me - firm, not saggy.
And the icing on the cake- we had excellent pizza downstairs.

Room Tip: The "double" was more like a king
