Me and my partner stayed in Amsterdam for three nights at this hotel. Overall I couldn't really fault it, the room was clean and nicely decorated, very nice shower. The only faults would be that the view from the room was into the back of the building, almost like a bin area which wasn't bad but could've been nicer. The pillows were also not good but that's to personal preference.

We paid 10 euros per morning for breakfast. Not a massive fan on this as I am gluten-free so there wasn't much choice but even so, for a normal diet the food wasn't exciting or tasteful. We just didn't want the stress of finding somewhere gluten-free every morning.

Staff were fine, the hallways and bedroom are boutique-like which is nice. I'd stay again.

I spent two nights at Sebastian's in October 2017.

As a solo traveller, I booked one of the rooms described as "small single". The owners went out of their way to highlight the small size when I booked, but I have to say that despite the compact dimensions, there is more than enough room for a comfortable stay. The room has been arranged carefully so that all the usual fittings you might expect are included, without feeling too cramped. If you need a lot of open space within a hotel room, this particular room might not be for you, and I believe that other rooms within the property are more spacious. I personally found it cosy.
The room itself consisted of bedroom and en suite. All the fixtures in the room were of a very high quality. The bed was comfortable, and the bedroom also contained a small wardrobe / cupboard, a safe, fridge / mini-bar, high end Samsung TV, kettle, and coffee maker. The bathroom was as you'd expect - WC, sink and walk-in shower.

Overall, the hotel had a lovely, warm atmosphere. The decor is carefully chosen to give a great combination of the feel of an old Amsterdam merchant's house, combined with high quality, modern fixtures that fit in with the age of the building, but give contemporary performance.
The staff were all extremely friendly. An example of this is that one of the receptionists, when she found out that I'm trying to learn Dutch, spent about 10 minutes chatting to me, giving me tips on pronunciation.

Sebastian's is located on Keizersgracht, which is one of the main canals of the Amsterdam canal ring. This area of the city is very beautiful - it's the sort of scene that you might see on a postcard - and this gives a lovely setting for your stay. This part of Amsterdam is pretty quiet, and yet it's very convenient for most of the attractions commonly visited - it's about 5 minutes from Damrak, 10 minutes from Anne Frank's House and maybe 20 minutes from the museum quarter.

I think this is a great hotel, and I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: All rooms looked good - the ones with a canal view are lovely

This is a small, quaint hotel with unique decor and very friendly, helpful staff. Location on the canal is good for walking to All parts of the city and is close to good restaurants. Hotel staff will provide a list of tried and true eating options with staff and guest recommendations.
Rooms are small bit very well appointed. Very clean and comfortable.

We opted for the rate with Breakfast included and is a good buy as it is served by friendly staffers and convenient, with many hot and cold options.

We would definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful hotel. 5 star treatment from all of the staff. The room overlooking the canal was great and the bed comfy. Located is a great area, close to everything. The Wine Bar had everything and the breakfast there was good.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a canal view

There are so many things to love about this hotel. Firstly, ideal location in the quieter part of the central canal district, only 5 min walk from the train station. Recent renovations result in funky contemporary decor with high quality furnishings - love the comfy bed and big pillows. Wide range of nespresso choice in your room, gorgeous Rituals toiletries - both of which are generous. In room iPod docking station for your own tunes. Great value breakfast- choice of 4 mueslis meant I'm in heaven. But for carnivores there is plenty of hot food. Best of all is the genuine welcome from staff who could not be more helpful, pleasant and friendly to foreign visitors. Whoever wrote their training manual deserves a medal. Other hotels could learn from their example.
