We decided on this hotel due to its excellent reviews on trip advisor, and the fact that we could have a triple room.
We received several emails from the hotel prior to our arrival asking for our bed preference.
Arriving from the airport was a short (approx 15 minutes direct costing €15.60) train ride, then a short 10 minute walk to the hotel. It was situated in a quiet area, opposite a canal, but a short walk from the centre.
We arrived around 11, but our room wasn't available. The reception staff greeted us, were happy to keep our luggage, and help us find a place for lunch.
When we arrived back, we took the lift to the 3rd floor, where our luggage had been placed in our room. The room was decorated like the rest of the hotel, in a luxurious style. My daughter was surprised when we told her it was a 3 star. The third bed was a proper bed, not a sofa bed. My husband particularly liked the coffee machine in the room, and there was plenty of blends for him to choose from. The beds were very comfortable, with each of us having our own covers, and there were additional pillows in the wardrobe. The shower room was small, but had everything we needed. There were plenty towels for everyone, a magnifying mirror, shampoo/body wash, cotton buds etc. There was also a safe & robes in the wardrobe. Our room 333 looked onto the back of the hotel, which didn't have a canal view, but was peaceful.
We had breakfast in the hotel (€10 for adults, €5 for under 18's). There was a variety of hot and cold items on offer, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, mini pancakes, scrambled egg, cereals, fruit, fruit juices, cold meat and pastries.
The hotel were happy to store our bags for us whilst we explored some more of the city, before we flew home.
Just be aware, even if you pay in full in advance there is a city tax of approximately €10 per night.
Would definitely recommend this as a luxurious, comfortable base when visiting Amsterdam.

We loved everything about this hotel. It's situated on one of the most serene and beautiful canals in Amsterdam. It's a short walk from central station where you can get on a train to the airport, Delft and many other destinations. You will also be close to cafes, bars and coffee houses. The hotel is classy and offers clean comfortable rooms with updated bathrooms. Rooms overlooking the canal offer peaceful views day and night. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Elevator. Overheard several people raving about their time there while checking out. We had an unforgetable experience and can't wait to return next year.

When I booked this hotel, they warned me that my single room was the smallest in the hotel, but the only one they had left for my one night stay. I can think of a few expensive London hotels that should offer the same warnings about room size when booking.
When I arrived, they had received a cancellation, so I ended up with a slightly bigger room.
The hotel is certainly a one off. Lots of character and a fantastic location. The hotel and the surrounding streets paint a picture of what people think Amsterdam should be like.
I would definitely use the hotel again, and would recommend to others.

We picked this hotel as It was central. Perfect with a canal side first floor room. Good service from Friendly staff who were helpful about what to see and do. Excellent breakfast and restaurant list. Fabulous bar service. All in all a good weekend. Thanks to all at Sebastian's.

Hotel Sebastian's is a very clean, comfortable hotel in the heart of the canal district. We were able to walk to all our destinations very easily from the hotel, and even just wandering up and down the canal streets was a delightful way to spend time. The staff in both reception and the bar/restaurant were friendly and extremely helpful. We felt very valued and comfortable.
The bed was comfortable, bathroom very beautiful and modern, and the room size, though we got a small room, was spacious by European standards! We had a canal view, and our companions did not. Their room was much quieter at night when they slept with the window open-because canal view also means street/sidewalk view. We didn't mind the sounds of the night-mostly people walking and talking-but if you are senstitive to noise, don't choose a canal view room OR do choose one, but don't plan to sleep with the window open. (They have a/c, if you prefer.)
