“Nice hotel @ the canals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

I absolutely loved this hotel!! Rooms are small and some might argue the rooms are dark, but for a young couple it is a really romantic place!! I loved our room overlooking one of the famous canals!
The staff was really nice, helpful and friendly! It felt like they were friends from the beginning!

The hotel itself is fairly modern and trendy in design which is nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is central in Amsterdam. It's close to the train station and action, but on a quiet street with a canal.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

I shared a standard room with a friend of mine on a recent trip to Amsterdam. After checking in my friend turned to me and said, "that is one of the nicest receptionists I have ever encountered"- and he works in the hotel/restaurant business. Like some other reviewers have noted, the rooms may be on the small side but that is the only negative in this value for money, boutique style hotel. I'm still surprised this hotel offers the rates it does when in an expensive city like Amsterdam it could easily charge 50-100 more a night. The location is perfect as well, on a quiet canal, minutes from the Anne Frank museum and a nice stroll into the heart of the city.

Room Tip: The canal view is nice but you will pay more.

The best service we've ever had. From the moment we got there they took care of everything. They talked us through a map, told us where to go for great food and to see a quieter, less touristy Amsterdam. They purchased advanced tickets for us for museums, rented us bikes, even gave us cash to take to restaurants then billed it to the room. They were always friendly and helpful and wanted to make sure their recommendations were still good. Totally gay friendly (like most of the city).

Location is great -- in a quiet part of the city but a 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal Train Station and all the tram lines, and close to Jordan.

The decor is also something -- a sort of Euro-Glam-Goth that definitely suits Amsterdam. Our room had a beautiful view of the Keizersgracht Canal through two huge windows that opened and could be screened if needed. Definitely recommend spending the money for the canal view, it really made for a romantic trip.

Room Tip: Definitely spend the money and get a room with a view of the canal. Go to hotels.nl to book in advan...
