The best. I loved staying at Museum Suites. The house and its neighbourhood are beautiful, quiet and gracious. Frida and Annemarie were lovely hosts. I will definitely stay here on future visits to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Stay in the Mondrian on the top floor. It's fantastic.

A lovely place to enjoy the beauty of Amsterdam. We were in the Rembrandt room which was very comfortible. The location allows you to observe the people who live and work in Amsterdam going about their daily lives but with the convience of being close to a tram line to take you anywhere in the city you would like to go. The staff was amazing, especially when it looked like we might have lost the key to the room - but thankfully we found it in the park. Also when they had to get up early for us to check out around 5am - they did so with a smile. Would recommend this to all my friends.

My mother and I had a wonderful stay at Museum Suites and highly recommend it.

We stayed for a week in the Van Gogh suite on a trip to the Keukenhof. The pictures on the website were an accurate portrayal of the room, in fact they did not do them justice! Spacious, high ceilings and beautifully appointed. The bedding was comfortable and good quality, and led to my mother replacing hers when she got home because she wanted pillows “just like at Museum Suites.”

The location was great – nice upscale area that is walking distance to the museums, several cafes, a grocery store, and the convenience of also having a tram stop one block away. Additionally, the concert hall (Concertgebouw) is walking distance as well. We attended a chamber music concert at the Concertgebouw and upon arriving were given a drink ticket, as well as a tram ticket home (gotta love Europe’s respect for the Arts!). Due to the proximity of Museum Suites, and the nice weather, we did not need the tram ticket.

Lastly, Frida & Annemarie were wonderful hosts! They were there to answer numerous questions, and assist with various situations. For example, we purchased the chamber music tickets online, but naturally did not have a way to print them out. I forwarded the email to Annemarie that night and the next morning an envelope was waiting for us with the tickets. I had considered renting an apartment for our visit, but am so glad we didn’t go that route. There is too much invaluable information you get from great innkeepers such as Frida & Annemarie.

As stated, Museum Suites is easily accessible by bus or tram. Coming from the airport, I would recommend taking the train to Centraal Station and taking a taxi (can’t remember the cost, but it wasn’t bad) the rest of the way. Once you visually know your destination, it will be much easier to identify your tram stop and hop off.

Also note, as of this past January, Europe has switched all credit cards to a chip rather than magnetic strip. While Museum Suites is equipped to take both, many businesses are ONLY taking the chip credit cards (looks like a cc with a sim card in it). We found ourselves having to withdraw a lot of cash at the ATM, as we could not even use our credit cards to buy train tickets.

We hope to return to Amsterdam and Museum Suites!

We spent 5 days in Amsterdam during a May long-weekend. The choice was THE MONDRAN'S SUITE located on the 2nd floor of a lovely and stylish historical house. Our two hosts- nice, helpful and always there when we needed them. Perfect location, just a 5 minute walk from the touristic spots. All in all we highly recommend this place for all those who cherish individuality and atmosphere of a place rather than soulless hotels and crowned lobbys. PERFECT.

Lovely hotel, great area - quiet part of Amsterdam but walking distance to everything. Good cafes nearby. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very nicely decorated and had a nespresso coffee machine. On Easter Sunday they gave us Easter eggs which was a nice touch. Very close to some of the best museums in the city. Only downside is the number of stairs to the top floor but it's not a problem to walk up. Highly recommend if you want to be away from the crowded and noisy tourist areas but still walking distance to most things.

A friend and I spent 4 days in April at Museum Suites. Our stay couldn't have been better in any way. The rooms--individually decorated by Annemarie and her mother--were beautiful and spotlessly clean. The hotel, which is also their home, is a beautiful building located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, away from all of the hubbub of the center of the City. Annemarie and Freda were perfect hosts--very pleasant and helpful--providing any and all information you could possibly want. In addition, they provided the many small, wonderful touches that make a hotel special. All in all, a wonderful stay at this beautiful small hotel.
