I've stayed here twice for business and have been impressed on both occasions. The hotel is not that central but I chose it as it's halfway between the centre and Bijlmer where I was working. The #9 tram goes from outside and Muiderpoort Station is a few minutes walk away. The corridor decoration is questionable but rooms are spacious and not as garish and have a nice finish especially the bathrooms, one of which had a very comfortable bath. Not sure if I would have paid for breakfast if I was on a personal trip as it's very expensive but has good choice. I ate at the restaurant on both occasions. Again, it's quite expensive but I think it's geared more towards business travellers anyway. Nevertheless the food (Italian with a twist) is fantastic and I really recommend the caprese salad with basil ice cream.

This hotel is very comfortable. We took the junior suite. The bathroom is luxurious, the toilet is separate from the shower/ (huge) bath area. You'll find the usual safe in a big closet, a small seating area with reading light, a desk. Huge bed with color mood lighting, the internet connection was free and fast. The hotel was a good resting place. A bit out of the main busy areas of the city (15 minutes tram from the Dam Square) but the tram is right out of the door. You'll find a small eatery opened late called "Grillroom Fata Morgana" on the front street to your left : humble place with awesome food and hospitable owner. Conveniently located next door to the hotel: a small restaurant, a convenience store, a "coffe shop" and the Caffe Milo on the next corner (see my review "Caffe Milo: Charming Anachronism" on TripAdvisor.)

The one thing I didn't appreciate is their lack of flexibility: (taking under consideration that the check-out is at 11 a.m. and the check-in is at 3 p.m.) we arrived in the morning (9:30 a.m., left our luggage at the hotel and went around town then came back at around 2 p.m.and instead of having our room prepared a soon as possible, the staff went on and followed their usual routine and let us wait (and sleep) on uncomfortable designer couches in the main lobby until 3 p.m.
I have a hard time believing that, knowing we were early and having those four hours to clean-up, our room could not have been prepared faster.

This is an art deco hotel with a good location in Amsterdam only couple minutes from city center by tram, the area and surroundings are very quite close to train station and easy to get location from central station
Hotel is quite new very clean, however we request a double bed with my partner and we receive a room with 2 twin bed together and it was a problem at night when beds split out!
Service is OK and i would recommed this.

Liked the location very close to Oosterpark and the 9 tram stops right out the front. Supermarket across the road and a few decent cafe very close by. It's a bit out of the centre but more than close enough to all the action.
Room was a little dirty upon check in and housekeeping wasn't fantastic, the bathroom had a pretty bad damp smell but was clean and spacious.
The room itself was a good size, we were on floor 3 under the eaves so there was space for our toddler to play. Didn't really like the decor, blue light was a bit distracting :)
My husband had the breakfast for an additional 17€ and wasn't overwhelmed as food was quite cold. I had fruit and yogurt from nearby market and stashed it in the small fridge.
Staff were excellent and really friendly and helpful.
Overall, not terrible but for over 100€ a night during week days I expected better.

The hotel is very grand from the outside and we were immediately impressed with concierge for opening our car doors and taking our baggage for us - couldn't be more helpful.
We had an early flight so arrived around 10am and the hotel kindly stored our luggage until 2:30pm when we could check into our room. Went out for the day and came back around 4pm and check in was smooth - staff very friendly and helpful.
Our room was nice and spacious, nicely decorated also. The only downsides were that the double bed was just two beds pushed together - which is quite annoying! Also the shower cubicle doesn't have a door so consequently the majority of the bathroom floor was wet after a shower. But these things didn't really matter to us a great deal, so only minor problems.

Loved the location, conveniently near a few shops/cafe's and tram stop right oustide. Tram no.9 takes you directly to the centre, about 10-15 minute ride. You can buy 1 hour, 24 hour or 48 hour tickets on the tram for a reasonable price.

We also hired bikes from the hotel, which was 16.50 euros for 24 hours. The bikes were great and we very much enjoyed seeing Amsterdam this way, I would 100% recommend a bike trip!!

We had breakfast included which was nice, buffet with lots to choose from!

Overall we had a really enjoyable stay - a couple of things with the room in hotel could be improved but not a major problem as we didn't go to Amsterdam to sit in the room all day. The staff were lovely and the city itself is beautiful and we are definitely going to return as there is so much more we want to do!

I payed for a 4 star hotel. In the begitning I did not notice bit after a few days I saw that the walls was full of black stains and thère was even coffe stains ón one Wall. The Brown Wood around the bed and desk was stained. The Brown Wood was also very dusty.
I Liked the neibourhood it was authentic and the nearby park was very Nice. And thère was som Nice places to go out eating. The customers at the restaurant are local wich is excellent comparing to the tourist restaurants in City center.

Well placed, a little out of the centre but the Number 9 tram stops directly outside the hotel (10 mins to Rembrandtplein) and Muirdepoort station is a 5 minute walk away (6 mins to Central Station). Plus you can hire bikes but €17.50 for 24 hours seemed a bit pricy.

There are a few nice little cafes and bars in the immediate area and the Hotel looks great from the outside, definitely a nice building.

Walking inside the Lobby is instantly disappointing however - just plain and an odd layout - until you reach the hallways which actually make you feel a bit 'wobbly' with the crisscross pattern on walls and carpets.

The staff seemed friendly and checkin/out was smooth enough. We were upgraded from a superior room to a deluxe room, which was nice in theory, however I shudder to think what the superior room would have been like if this was 'deluxe'.

It was just disappointing, pretty small, bad view of a lower level rooftop, again oddly/inconveniently laid out, TERRIBLE decor (headboard wall was a huge graphic of herring...come on now!), two single beds rammed together masquerading as a double or king bed etc etc. That said, the bathroom was nice.

To sum up...

- Well enough placed if you don't mind public transport.
- Nice exterior building and staff.
- Terrible decor throughout.
- Poorly appointed rooms (deluxe anyway!).
- Pricey.

Even at the discounted rate we wouldn't be too keen on returning and would opt for a different hotel.

Room Tip: Maybe don't go for room 221 - thats all the experience I have.
