This hotel is in a prime location for getting around Amsterdam. We stayed for 3 nights over Easter weekend and had a great time.
Hotel: The hotel was clean and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful with any request we had. We requested a queen bed room however they were all full so we had a twin room with the beds pushed together, the maid was sent immediately to our room and this was sorted out within 5 minutes.
Room: The room was a great size, not too small in my opinion which other people are stating. We had a view of the train tracks and the noise from the trains never seemed to bother us. There were toiletries in the bathroom(shampoo, shower gel, soap etc), towels and bed linen were changed every day. There was a mac computer in the room which allowed you to browse the internet and watch tv channels.
Location: The location was great in my opinion, right next to central station so great for getting around anywhere via train or the trams. It was approximately a 5-10 minute walk from dam square.
Sky Lounge: The views from the sky lounge are lovely, you get a great view over the whole city. We never ate there however the drinks were good, i had a fruity beer which i would recommend however some of the prices are quite high. I had a latte one afternoon and that was around 10euros however you got some biscuits and nougat with it also.
Breakfast: There was a wide variety of things to choose from for breakfast, it was just like an all you can eat breakfast buffet with food such as bacon, sausages, muffins, cereal, waffles, sweets, variety of bread and there was a wide choice of beverages.
However we had one slight problem with the hotel and that was on the last day leaving our luggage. When we went back for it, it was no where to be seen however this problem was solved and within 20 minutes we had our suitcase back (which another guest had took to the airport and tried to open meaning the lock was twisted so we couldn't open it up). The staff couldn't apologize any more than they did about this and they offered us a free beverage while we waited. We got back in touch with the hotel though to inform the manager about the trouble it caused us and she was very apologetic and explained everything to us properly which reassured us.
OVERALL .... lovely hotel, great location, great city, wide choice of food for breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.
We would stay here again!
