Visited this place with 3 friends after a matinee concert at the Concertgebouw. We had booked and paid in advance using Groupon. Unfortunatley it opened late, 18.00. So we had to go to a pub at the corner of Utrechtsestraat and Herengracht. Around 18.00 we returned, sat inside. Was a bit dark, but we were directed towards the back, we would have preferred a place at the windows, alas. We explained who we were, the arrangement, we had paid etc. the owner had conformed this by e-mail and i also had contacted them over the phone. After some time it sank in, but he did not remember the deal, so he said. and then I knew we were being fooled as I had not completely printed out the deal, its contents, the exact descripion of the 3 course meal we had paid for. So, he kinda made up something, but I think we got about 75% of what we had expected and it wasn't all up to the expected quality. The starters were ok, except the fish soup one of us ordered, of which just a few spoonfulls were eaten. Of course they were fast asking for drinks, the wines were just ok, the beers normal. But man, waiting for the food, the courses, took ages and ages, our stomachs were really shouting for food. So, we spent hours and hours inside, realising we would miss this train, that train. So in additiion to our meal, also had another coffee, and coffee with licqour etc. The main courses were o.k., but we missed out on some things, that I was sure were in the deal. The desserts were o.k. The food in itself was great. I think the restaurant was too full with too few people working, hence the long wait. Which was really annoying. We arrived home in my hometown about 2 to 2.5 hours later than we had expected. I would give 2.5 stars, 3 is too much. A month later I visited La Vaca on the other side of Rembrandt square, the difference could not have been bigger. The waitress and the cook asked how everything was, but were not in the mood having our evening spoiled by complaining.

We found this place after a quick Google search for the best/better steakhouses in Amsterdam (they're all over the place!). The review we found highly recommended the place and they were spot on. After a rainy walk from our apartment to Rembrandt Square it was only another minute or two to the restaurant. It was later in the evening, probably close to 9pm, but they were more than happy to serve us. The place was nearly empty (a welcome treat after a day spent at the Rijks) and we were given a choice of where to sit. Our waiter was quite nice, spoke decent English, and had our drinks out very quickly. Three menus were provided - Argentinian Steakhouse, Peruvian home cooking, and tapas. We went with steak and a few side dishes and were not disappointed. The food was excellent - the steaks were cooked exactly as requested and the side dishes piping hot and delicious. The only downside (if you can call it that) is that they were not accepting credit/debit cards that night but that seems to be a common occurrence in Amsterdam so we were always prepared with cash.

Emailed and got reply...booked for 730pm saturday eve. Took the tram in the cold. Told we have no table for you..ok, I'll take the next one...no you'll have to wait an hour. Left and not one to return to. Service seems as shoddy as the other reviews.

The restaurant is pleasant decor and ambiance, however the service was rather rude and the steak itself tough and dry, definitely not the type of steak I've had in Argentina! I noticed there was a Groupon deal on at the time so not sure if its a quality dip while the offer is on, but I will not be returning
