We didn't have time to stay and watch a film but it's worth popping into the beautiful foyer on your way past. Also a beautiful building outside too!

This has to be one of the best looking cinemas in Europe. A stunning cinema that incorporates several styles. Built by a Jewish/Polish man travelling through Amsterdam on route to the USA. Because of his passion to build such a palace he almost lost his and his entire families life when the Nazis marched into Amsterdam.

During occupation the Nazis took control of the cinema and renamed it the Tivoli.

Auditorium one is the original auditorium, the other additional screens are bland in comparison.

Enjoy a move here, in English, you'll not forget it.

sumptious art deco features outside and inside. A choice of styles in seating (we went for the loveseats on the ground floor, main hall (hall 1) at the back- cosy.
A great nostalgic cinema experience.
Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. (Totally different to a modern cinema experience in central London.)
Wasnt too keen on the nachos, nothing special, (but I didnt go there for the food). a choice of one drink on the menu(i had red wine) and one snack was included in our ticket price.
We picked the movie we knew was English speaking(unfortunately we'd love to speak Dutch, but cannot) and this had Dutch subitles but we picked it due to it being shown in the main hall.
Really lovely experience. definitely recommend.
The only problem I encountered was the pathe website when I tried to book tickets online. I gave up in the end and we bought tickets in person. Maybe it doesnt accept UK credit cards? I dont know. Had to use google translate also on the website so found that all a bit time consuming.
Would definitely recommend a movie night here if you're in Amsterdam.

You need to go to the big theater in the middle (I don't remember the number" BEAUTIFUL ! ! ! ! KLM donated flying the carpet to the Netherlands because they understand the value of the theater. There is a great candy store next door and they let you bring candy into the theater. They offer a Wine/Cheese/Nuts appetizer thats real good.

This cinema is my favourite in Amsterdam. It's in an old theater which makes it special and the seats are huge compared to the more modern cinemas and very comfortable
